Amazing 25th Anniversary Trip

Nacole M (Granbury, Texas) on Jun 19, 2026

We recently visited the Grande St. Lucian June 7-14, 2026. We had an amazing stay. Our butlers: Bailey, Jackie, and Kersharma were the absolute BEST! One of the photographers, Ansel, was wonderful also. We ran into her multiple evenings and she remembered us and went out of her way to strike up conversation and make sure our stay was going well. We stayed in a butler Rondoval suite and it was perfect! I would highly recommend if you can splurge! The food was outstanding. Our favorite is Soy and Bombay! I would hands down recommend this resort to anyone thinking of visiting St. Lucia. I would also recommend the helicopter transfer as it is much faster than the shuttle!

Paradise with some negatives

malcolmsimmons (Colchester, United Kingdom) on Jun 19, 2026

This was our fourteenth Sandals trip and our third to Sandals Grand St Lucian, which remains our favourite location. Positives The location is ideal with beautiful grounds, beach, swimming and snorkeling facilities. Although quieter than other Sandals resorts this perfectly fitted our requirements for relaxing. There were regular activities throughout the day and evening. The main pool area has plenty of daily activities and there were several other smaller pools for those who preferred a quieter time. There were also a number of available sunbeds on the beach. Saint Lucians are the friendliest and nicest people in the Caribbean, as are the staff that work there. The beach and pool manager, Andre went above and beyond to look after us during our stay and nothing was too much trouble. Andre's role is a relatively new appointment and well done Sandals for recognising someone with so much talent to make our holiday such a memorable one. Novron is a great barman and serves the best expresso martinis and white Russians. A big thank you for the service from both Lydia and Avernelle at Toscaninis. The food selection during the day is very good and varied and would recommend the Jerk Shack, Barefoot and Dinos Pizzeria. Great evening meals at Toscaninis, Gordons, Bayside and Soy. Would recommend the luxury seafood cruise. Would also recommend the buggy adventure tour. Our favourite was the Captain for the Day powerboat snorkelling trip to the pitons. Negatives On our two previous visits to the resort, our favourite restaurant was the Indian restaurant, Bombay as the food was exceptional and one of the best in all the Sandals resorts we have visited . We were therefore looking forward to returning to Bombay and booked the restaurant twice. Unfortunately, on both occasions the food was extremely dry, bland and without flavour. We tried several dishes and yet the food was always the same. The resort desperately needs a coffee shop like other Sandals resorts and yet we understand this is in the planning for the future. We are aware of the two hour journey by car from the airport and every time we have used this means of travel we have spent a considerable amount of time stuck in traffic. The roads are also not the easiest to navigate with some guests/passengers reporting car sickness. Last time we visited the resort we booked the helicopter and yet when we arrived at the airport were told we could not use this as there was not enough passengers booked on our flight. This time around we booked the helicopter both ways. Whilst this is a great way to see the island nobody tells you that you are not allowed to take onto the helicopter any liquids, sun creams, bottles or deodorants over 100ml. Hence we had to lose all of these items before being allowed onto the helicopter. Both myself and my wife had more or less full bottles of sun cream and estimate that this cost us in the region of US$70. If you do book the helicopter for departure, you are required to pack your main bags first thing in the morning and before 8.30am' as these are transferred to the main airport separately. If we had been advised of this issue, we would have packed these items within our main luggage rather than lose them when getting on to the helicopter. Also on the day of our departure, nobody at the Tours Island desk told us that our 5pm pickup had moved to 4pm and neither had anybody told the taxi driver of the change. This meant that the resort had to arrange for one of their own drivers to take us to the local airport to pick up the helicopter. Also on the day of our departure we were allocated a room in which to shower. Within five minutes of being in the room a maid walked in on us. Five minutes later a couple who had been provided with a room key also walked in on us just as we were about to get in the shower. Unfortunately this left us with a negative feeling at the end of what was a fantastic holiday. Overall Despite the negatives, this still remains our favourite resort and have already booked to return next year. We have also booked the new resorts at St Vincent and Dunn's River, Jamaica to see how they compare.
