My friend convinced me to come to this place. The only reason I'd come back is because it's familiar. Do not disturb sign means nothing cleaner still tried coming in while I'm having a nap, directions to find your place was the worst, food was recycled from day(s) before, fridge desserts were gross and all wet, tried different cakes and they were drier than the chicken. Lipstick on glasses that they serve you full of whatever you ordered, Prob 5 people in this whole area speaks English so you can't ask anybody for help. They try, but come on, more than half (tourists) this place is white people who speak english, Spent 40 mins in line for reservations at 8am go to the restaurant for 6pm where they say it is and it's not the right one. Server says it's the other restaurant, that restaurant says its that one. The second "help" desk tells me it's the first restaurant, calls for help says same thing I was done by then more than half an hour past reservation now. Wifi doesn't work inside the rooms, so you have to hang out on the balcony to use wifi. People reserve chairs (with towels) and they stay empty all day, They have a Mexican night where all the restaurants force you to eat Mexican. I'm not Mexican and I don't like it. 3 light bulbs have been burnt out the entire time, the curtains are not black outs so you're waking up with the sunrise, for some reason there's loud af Mexican music late in the evening until 1030pm and you can hear it with your doors closed (I was the furthest building from it), the water was turned off one evening and didn't come back on til mid afternoon the next day. Couple days later it goes off again for idk how long. Yes the alcohol is watered down but it's for your own safety and theirs. The only thing that kept me sane beside my books, were the iguanas. This was my first solo vacation and I'm 44 (with grown kids now), but I am pretty upset on the cost vs experience. I wish I could have went home sooner.

Swim in the ocean, eat off resort, avoid Adrian

Nick F on Jan 04, 2026

Overall vibes: very family friendly resort A pretty dated resort, paint falling off exterior walls. The pools are lovely and the bar staff are funny and polite. Activities all day long, every day. Terrible service. Beautiful beach When we checked in the sheets were damp and they told us they'd change them but didnt until the next morning when they complained that the sheets were soiled and left them in a garbage bag in our room. There very few power outlets in the rooms, we had to unplug the lamps next to our bed to charge our phones and housekeeping unplugged our cords to make the bed. Our fridge didnt work but we realized they had unplugged it in favor of a lamp. The shower in our room leaked onto the bathroom floor and pooled in the entrance to the room. When checking in we had major issues with the night manager Adrian. This poor egotistical man must only be allowed to work at night so that he interacts with the fewest people. My girlfriend arrived a night early and they told her to go to a hostel instead of letting her pay to stay with us or for a room. Then all the hostels around were closed so we looked for a room through different bookings and they had several available and we had to book online. They then had a contract that was only in Spanish, with a #4 font, too small to translate with a phone, that I had to sign to stay. The whole time the night staff and security are pointing and laughing at us in Spanish. The food is mediocre to say the least. The buffet breakfast is okay, a little bit of everything but all very overcooked. Lunch buffets are very much the same. For dinner, you have to wake up at 7am to book a table at one of the a la carte restaurants. So you better know what you want to eat and when as soon as you wake up. The food is entirely mediocre at each of the a la carte. Then if you dont get a table you can't just show up later and hope. They won't entertain that. So you go to the buffet and at dinner its especially bad.
