Beautiful boutique hotel in Victoria’s James Bay

Beautiful hotel with everything you need! I used to work down the street from the hotel when it was being built and had eaten there, years ago, but had never stayed and always wanted to. We were “home”to BC from Toronto for the Christmas holidays, spending a week visiting family up and down the island. We booked a night to ourselves before our Sunday flights. We were so happy with that decision! The front desk staff were friendly upon check in. The room had everything you could possibly need with a well appointed kitchen- in fact, when we come out to visit my husband’s parents who live nearby, we will likely stay there for a week because we can cook for ourselves. The bathroom’s soaker tub with locally made toiletries was a treat and the bed was comfortable. The room dark and quiet for sleeping. Close to Dallas road for a morning walk or run, and walking distance to downtown for dinners and Thrifty’s for groceries. It was the perfect last night on the island.
Clean, modern and central hotel

We spent a month in a one bedroom suite at this very central, modern and clean hotel. The staff (Valentine, Earl, Ravenna and Autumn) were always helpful and very welcoming- they truly made it feel like a home away from home as we discovered the delightful James Bay neighbourhood and visited family snd friends. The hotel is within easy walking distance from downtown- there are also two bus stops within 100 metres from the hotel (we downloaded the UMO app for Victoria buses- we found it easy to use and wish we had it in Ottawa!). We made frequent use of the hotel’s gym (small but with a nice view of the garden and all of the needed equipment etc). There are several restaurants within walking distance of the hotel in addition to the one in the hotel proper. Noise was never and issue and we found the area (roads included) to be quiet at this time of year. Our suite’s kitchen provided the basic necessities (pots, pans etc) and staff provided us with additional utensils and glasses upon request. We will return to the hotel during our next visit to Victoria (to escape the cold Ottawa winters!).
