Nice Hotel. Good spot for exploring Calgary.

On a recent trip to Calgary, we stayed at the Delta Hotel on 4th Avenue. The Delta chain (part of Marriott), is a good hotel chain. This particular hotel is a close walk to the Calgary Tower and the Saddledome (if it's not too cold out). Also a convenient short walk to shopping and restaurants. The hotel has reasonably priced indoor parking for guests.
Love the staff!

The overall experience at this hotel was quite lovely. The staff doing check in were AMAZING. The service was second to none. There were just a bunch of little things that would probably make me book elsewhere next time. First off, the scent they have in the lobby is incredibly overwhelming. If you are sensitive to scents or have allergies. this will definitely bug you. We dined at the restaurant one night and the smell was obviously there too. I got a head ache over dinner. The supper and drinks were delicious though and the servers are great. Parking was also another challenge. It is not abundant. They do have oversized parking for trucks on the first level though. If you have a tall SUV park on the oversized, not on level 2 or 3. The elevators are also carded, great for safety, annoying if you’re ordering skip the dishes or delivery. The rooms are very cozy and feel modern. The bottled water is a nice touch. The thermostat is touchy. You bump it down 0.5 a degree and it blows cold air and the room gets way too cold. The water pressure was pretty terrible but the water stayed hot. There isn’t great lighting in the room so it’s kind of dark. The beds are very comfy and the pillows are great with a few different kinds so you can find one that suits what you like. Housekeeping left a dirty cleaning rag in my room the first day and they skipped cleaning my room all together the second day so housekeeping can definitely use some improvement. The hotel is also poorly insulated and is right beside a fire station so that is something to be aware of. I’m not sure if there is a quieter side of the hotel or not but my room is sure loud. The little coffee shop downstairs is also a great addition. They have lots of food options. They definitely could have used a second person working there though as it is quite slow in the morning.
Good stay overall but could be better

Overall, it was a pleasant stay. There were hiccups about housekeeping service being poorly done on the first two nights, but after speaking to the staff, they made sure to change that for the rest of the week. The server at shoe and canoe when we had our drinks on our 4th night left the most impression. He was very engaging and even recommended places to check out. Super friendly! Loved the drinks at the bar. One thing Delta can improve on would be having more seats at the lobby. There’s not much seats to sit on as you wait. I was kind of in an awkward state while waiting downstairs for my friend because there were no more seats left. I don’t know if people were checking in or checking out or waiting for tour buses because it was early in the morning around 7am. I just stood outside in the end.
Insufficient guidance on how to get there from the airport by public transport.

I haven't visited yet but I'm trying to find out how to get there from the airport and the hotel website is very sketchy and no help at all. There is no way to email them and I'm not going to phone from the UK. Has anyone done the journey from the airport by public transport and can give me some guidance, please?
Pretty centrally located

Stayed here for a night. We got room 518, it overlooks the front of the street. You can see Dragon City Mall on the extreme left. There is complimentary water bottles in the room, we were 3 so got 3 bottles. However, bath towels are set up for only 2. Room isn't very bright but it had sufficient lighting. No luggage racks were provided so we had to use a chair for our second luggage. The room had a weird smell (likely the carpet) but, with the AC on, don't really smell it.
