No hot tub for kids.

Tracy C on Apr 24, 2024

Not what we expected from a "luxury Marriott property. They have a hot tub, but it was just for adults only. It’s been so windy and cold here in Hawaii. My three kids wanted to use the hot tub. Kids are not allowed to use a hot tub only for adults. We are staying here for nine days. My kids are getting a runny nose and about to get sick because it’s been so cold and windy here. I am staying here for nine days at this hotel. I don’t recommend this hotel for families who have kids that want to use a hot tub. STAY AWAY. The maid service was excellent, location good on Wakaki strip.

stayed here for our first week, checked in late, girl at night local girl short hair wears glasses, shes been at this marriott for about a year she said. super friendly helpful and caring. Greeted us and talked with us asked what are we celebrating and took time to register every person and ask if needed assistance or are we first time visistors which we are not as we used to live on island but, nice of her to engage and ask. we were here for a tournament at radford for our kids. As we reside on Kauai and in LA welcomed us used our name 5x and as well thanked us for being elite members. You could tell shes been in hospitality for awhile. Rooms were clean, excellent, rooms were close to elevator as we asked and rooms were fully stocked as we walked on property they looked pretty busy but, everything was upkept, clean, tons of activities on site and stuff to do if staying in. we did valet she did go over with us the 2 parking options and pricing. bfast restaurant was fast and delightful overrall over 10 stars to this resort. Horrible policy standards and accommodation procedure

Nicolas O on Apr 18, 2024

My wife and I stayed here for 4 nights. Two of those nights our room was plagued with the smell of marijuana from the couple across the hall. When I brought up this issue, I was questioned by staff on why I didn’t report it on the first night, as though it was my fault. They got us a new room but would not refund us for those two nights, stating that the room change was the only accommodation we’d get. Those were sleepless nights for my pregnant wife and all of our belongings had that odor on them. They admitted it’s a known issue. Even with the no smoking policy, accommodate better when these issues occur.

Great Waikiki hotel

Dchoch (Lewisville, Texas) on Apr 08, 2024

We stayed for a few days after our cruise and really liked this hotel. We had a great view of the ocean. Our room was large, the shower was nice with real pressure. It also had a bidet with the toilet heated. The place also has 2 ABC stores if you need snacks. They have towels to use at pool or beach. There is an adult pool as well as a family pool. Good restaurants on campus. They even have a scale in lobby so you can check the weight of your bags. They gave us a late checkout which we appreciated. Great hotel.

Just Ok.

We had a good stay and were happy with our trip, but had issues with the hotel. It took us 45 mins to check in. Not a good start. They put a hold on our credit card for $795 for a 5 night stay, even though our trip was paid in full. I'm not even sure why this large of an amount was necessary. They said they would not charge us a resort fee and that it was included in our package. So why the $795 hold? They put us in a room that did not match the photos on the website. When I called they changed us to a room that was similar to the website photos. However, the closet was a closed off corner that was not usable and full of dust clumps. The bathroom was much smaller than the first room. They had two pools, and most of the loungers were only accessible by renting a cabana for $150 a day. Otherwise there were about 20 available at each pool for those who didn't pay (in a 30+ floor hotel.) They were taken by 7am or so each day. The beach across the street was nice but it isn't a private beach and there are no hotel loungers, umbrellas, etc available. You can rent one from a separate company if you want though. Ice is only on Odd numbered floors so you have to go down or up a floor to get ice if you are on an even floor, which we were. On the plus side, our housekeeper "Blandy" was fantastic and our room was always very clean. That was nice. The hotel is in a great location. We were able to walk to all of our meals and everything was accessable. The game room was small but fun. We played pool there a few times. We also really appreciated having the ABC stores in the hotel.
