Great service, poor AC.

ambroseg831 (Calgary, Canada) on Apr 22, 2024

In general it is a nice place to stay, once they get your request figured out. What we initially got for a room was completely opposite from our request. We requested a room (even gave them the building number) that was by the Adult Only pool, what we got was a room over the two pools with children and the noisy pool are located. OAN this resort has a huge issue with the AC, we stayed in two different rooms and the AC in both on them was horrible, could get them below 24C. Spoke with a few other who had the same issue, a few who had to shut off the AC as it was freezing in their rooms. Previous reviews also stated poor AC, why has this not be addressed? Now for the good stuff. Portofino: Julio, and the rest of the staff were incredible as was the food. Julio and staff prepared a great, private dinner for my wife & I, however my wife a minor emergency issue in which we could not finish the dinner. Our apologies to Julio and staff. Julio did bring in an EMT (Hamblet) who attended to my wife, so a huge thank you for that. El Patio: Ernesto, Phillipe, Tania and the entire staff were excellent and food was very tasty. World Cafe: Ernesto (once again), the hostess's and our fave waitress Cecilia were awesome.

A beautiful location

Darryll1 (Langley, Canada) on Apr 22, 2024

We will likely return because of the location and staff. The ocean and the staff were what made this vacation. Regarding the drinks and food, they were definitely not the best I have had, nor the worst. The fruit mixes (mango, orange, strawberry) they use for the mixed drinks is super sweet and has an artificial flavour. Night time dining waiters need more training in timing of service and attention to guests. Often felt ignored. Best bar was the preferred lounge. Jorge and Geraldo were both very attentive. Jorge made the best margarita that we had while at the resort. The Seaside grill for breakfast and lunch was quite good, nice location and attentive service. Service by the Barracuda beach wait staff at the Preferred area was very good, always friendly. This is where we spent most of our time during the day, a perfect location on the beach with the ocean waves a few steps away. When we were there there was no issues with finding loungers, seemed to be an adequate supply.. The air-conditioning in the rooms seems to be central controlled, not controlled by the thermostats in the rooms, and we were unable to change the temperature. The pillows we had, and there were only two not the usual four available by most hotels were hard and uncomfortable. The bed was reasonably comfortable. The room was clean. The view was ocean view. A couple of nights the music below us went on to 11:00pm or midnight, which was not great if you are an early riser.

We thought the staff was very friendly, the resort was the perfect size and very clean. Food was excellent, and a great variety! Everything we needed was at the resort, would definitely go again!

Best Mexican Experience so far

KevinMisura (Kelowna, Canada) on Apr 21, 2024

We have done 4 previous trips to Mexico and this was by a long shot the best service and food we have experienced. I read some of the comments before we arrived and I am at a loss to understand what they expect when they visit Mexico.
