Great place for a family vacation

We just finished a wonderful 8 night stay at Wailea Beach Resort. This was our first time staying here. The hotel was perfect for our large group, which included 5 young children. I want to give a special shout out to Zelie and Denelle from the concierge. They were incredibly helpful, responsive, and friendly. They helped us with every part of our trip, from deciding on what rooms would be best for our family, to booking dining reservations, and helping arrange transportation while on Maui. I also want to give special thanks to sherigne, Taylor, and the rest staff at the Starbucks in the hotel lobby. We started every morning with a Starbucks run. The friendliness of the staff was really amazing. By the second day, they remembered our names and our orders. It was a great way to start each day. We spent most of our days at the Nalu kids pool. our kids couldn’t get enough of the water slides and splash pad. The beach just south of the hotel (in front of grand Wailea) was also great. Like others have said, be sure to go early to snag beach chairs and umbrella (Kaleo who helped us out was another super friendly and helpful staff member). We loved the open layout of the hotel. There is plenty of green space for kids to run around. We look forward to coming back to Wailea Beach Resort.
Beware attempt to charge for non-existent upgrade! Look elsewhere for better accommodations.

We booked and paid for an “Oceanfront” room. A week prior to arrival, we received an email offer to purchase an upgrade to the exact same room we booked! Even at checkin they were unable to explain why they wanted to charge us more for our room. We have read of other, similar episodes with this property. Finally, the property is well-worn and does not represent a value for what they charge.
