My stay at Westin Bonaventure was enjoyable!

The Westin Bonaventure Hotel & Suites offers an experience that’s equal parts architectural icon and urban escape. Apparently, it has made appearances in movies and television shows, adding to its almost cinematic quality. Upon my arrival, I felt the aesthetics to bold, distinctive, slightly quirky, but full of personality. The Bonaventure isn’t your cookie-cutter hotel for sure—it’s a design statement that prioritizes experience and atmosphere over simplicity. Let’s start with my room: I stayed on the 29th floor (room 2911 GREEN tower), and the peace and quiet up there was a welcome contrast to the LA buzz below. The room itself was comfortably appointed—think high-quality linens, a cozy Westin Heavenly Bed that lived up to its name, and everything you need at your fingertips. The real star, though? That floor-to-ceiling wall of glass. One uninterrupted pane that made the city views not just visible, but cinematic—especially after dark, when the skyline sparkles like it’s trying to impress you (and it does). The hotel overall has a lot going for it: multiple dining options, and a calm, professional vibe. But here’s where things get... interesting. The Bonaventure’s design is undeniably unique—those four gleaming glass towers, the exterior elevators—but navigating it can feel like an unintended urban hike. Each tower has its own elevator system, so depending on where your room or meeting is located, expect to channel your inner explorer. Speaking of elevators: they’re an attraction in themselves. The glass pods shoot up the outside of the hotel, giving you sweeping views of the city. It’s thrilling—but if you’re squeamish with heights, maybe don’t look down (or out... or anywhere, really). Parking is another matter as well. If the hotel's self-parking is full, you only option is the City's parking that is adjacent to the hotel. Both require an extra cost to park, but the City's parking lot does not include in/out privileges. Would I recommend it? Yes—with caveats. It's a perfect fit for travelers who enjoy something a little out of the ordinary, value a quiet night’s sleep, and can appreciate that sometimes, even getting to your room can feel like a mini adventure.
okay for a business trip

here for a conference at the LA convention center located about 2km away. No concerns with the service, room quiet enough to sleep and try to recover from jet lag. Rooms clean but agree with the comments from others that they are a little dated. If you are reasonably fit and enjoy walking most things are walkable, including groceries (closest is grocery outlet), grand central market, FIGat7th. Staff helpful.
