Feels like a relaxing home

JenniferJamaica (Kingston, Jamaica) on Jun 06, 2024

This was my 3rd stay at Rooms. It such an all-round wonderful experience, I just had to return! The security guard at the entrance, front desk personnel, as well as Ms. Grant, the manager, all employees in the restaurant, bar, ground staff gave us a very warm welcome. They really know how to make you feel at home. They were friendly, professional, courteous and helpful throughout the 4 days. As with my previous visits, room & bathroom as well as bed linen and towels were very clean. The room was very spacious. The large mattress & pillow quite comfortable. We slept like a baby. It was relaxing sitting on the porch attached to the room surrounded by colorful plants. The open dining room has a fantastic view of the lush garden with coconut trees etc and calm, turquoise blue sea. Food for the soul. The beach closer to the shore is not deep, thus also safe for children. The water is crystal-clear. You can see your toes as well as schools of minute fishes swimming by. Meals were not only well presented but also very tasty. The kitchen and bar staff were immediately willing to accommodate my special wishes. Rooms On The Beach will definitely be my home away from home whenever I visit Negril in the future.

You get what you pay for

Mel B on Apr 23, 2024

Overall, our stay had its highs and lows. The rooms and continental breakfast are in need of updating. The lunches were delicious, kudos to the chef. The standout staff was Kimmy, whose exceptional service made our stay memorable. Angie also provided great assistance. Kimmy should be in charge of training other staff members, as some of the bar staff lacked friendliness and basic hospitality skills. However, the receptionists were friendly and helpful. The location was perfect, with a gorgeous beach and unbeatable views. In summary you get what you pay for, so don’t expect to be wowed or anything but it is a standard urging on the side of basic 3 star hotel.

A fabulous couple of weeks in Jamaica!

RuthNeilBlue (Failsworth, United Kingdom) on Apr 04, 2024

We enjoyed our two weeks in Negril at Rooms. It was half way along 7 mile beach, which meant we had the option of walking left or right! The beach is beautiful, lots of bars and restaurants along it. Different people told us they had stayed at several of the other places along the beach and that Rooms was the best & how lucky we were that it was our first choice. It is right on the beach and you can either sunbathe on the beach within the small wall of the hotel or take your sun-lounger and umbrella onto the main beach on the other side of the wall. The people who come up and down the beach selling their wares are all lovely and would leave you alone if you said “no thank you”. The Pattie man and the Bread man you must buy from, very tasty food! I love a bed & breakfast rather than an all inclusive, so that you have to venture out and immerse yourself in the culture of the locals. Which is why Rooms suited me. Rooms is Nextdoor to a great bar called Woodstock, (so ask for a room on the opposite side if you don’t like loud music, or take earplugs) . The beds were comfy. Our room was huge, upstairs facing the sea. We had to move rooms twice, one was due to having no aircon and the second because the shower tap was falling off. Otherwise it all went smoothly. We would definitely go back and stay here.

Great stay at Rooms on the Beach

Paula B on Mar 17, 2024

Place is small, friendly and comfortable. Office, restaurant, bar, ice machine and our room was close to the beach which was great. Not a 5* by any means as needs some TLC (we had mold on the ceiling and AC in our room) but we were comfortable and would definitely go back. Beach is beautiful with plenty of choices for restaurants and bars. The restaurant at Rooms only serves Breakfast and Lunch. For breakfast was toast, fruit, one egg, sweets, juice, tea or coffee or you can order from the menu as you want to pay. Their lunch was delicious and very reasonably priced. Loved that we were walking distance to a small variety store "Sweet Spot" to buy our water and pop. Also really close to Miss Sonia's for her delicious patties and Caletta's for their delicious dinners. Also, ate at Best in the West which is known for their Jerk Chicken. You can travel around in their local Route Taxi or hire your own cab. It can be a bit noisy at night because of the bars on the beach but we wore ear plugs. Staff was very friendly especially Charmaine at the front desk. This place is a great location and very affordable but as mentioned this is not for you if you are looking for a 5*.
