Worst Hotel Experience – Filthy, Unresponsive, and Dishonest
Jay B on Jan 07, 2025
I recently stayed at Holiday-Inn & Suites Orlando SW - Celebration area and it was, without a doubt, the worst hotel experience I’ve ever had. From cleanliness to service, everything was shockingly bad, and the hotel’s dishonesty only made matters worse. Here’s a detailed account of the problems I faced: 1. Cockroaches in the room: I was horrified to find cockroaches in my room, crawling around as if it were their home. This is an immediate red flag for any hotel. The fact that they allow their rooms to reach this level of infestation shows a complete lack of care for hygiene and guest comfort. It’s deeply unsettling and unacceptable to encounter pests where you sleep. 2. Black mold in the bathroom: The bathroom was in terrible condition, with black mold growing around the tiles. This isn’t just a cosmetic issue—mold can cause serious health problems, especially for those with respiratory issues or allergies. It was obvious that the bathroom hadn’t been properly cleaned or maintained in a long time. I couldn’t believe the hotel allowed guests to use such an unsanitary space. 3. Inconsistent cleaning services during the stay: Despite staying multiple days, housekeeping was inconsistent about cleaning our rooms. It felt as if the staff completely disregarded any responsibility for keeping the rooms clean. This made the entire stay uncomfortable and frustrating. 4. No response on the intercom: The level of unresponsiveness at this hotel was astonishing. Whenever I tried to call the front desk or housekeeping through the intercom, no one ever answered. Whether it was for cleaning services, fresh towels, or any assistance, I was met with silence. It’s completely unacceptable for a hotel to be so unreachable when guests need help. 5. Lies about lodging complaints and refunding service fees: One of the most frustrating aspects of my stay was the blatant dishonesty. I went to the front desk twice to formally lodge complaints about the unsanitary conditions and lack of service. Both times, the staff assured me that my complaints were logged and that I would be refunded for the service fees due to the poor experience. However, when I followed up via the booking site for my refund, the hotel denied ever receiving any complaints. Being lied to by the hotel staff added insult to injury and showed their complete lack of integrity. 6. Smelly, dirty, and dusty carpeting: The entire hotel, including the room and hallways, smelled musty and unclean. The carpets were visibly dirty, dusty, and hadn’t been properly cleaned in what seemed like months. The foul odor lingered throughout my stay, making it impossible to feel comfortable in the space. It was clear that cleanliness and upkeep were not priorities for this hotel. In summary, Holiday-Inn failed on every front—from hygiene to customer service to basic honesty. The cockroach infestation, black mold, inconsistent room cleaning and the dishonesty regarding my complaints made this the worst hotel stay I’ve ever had. I strongly advise anyone considering this hotel to look elsewhere. It’s simply not worth the headache, discomfort, and frustration.
Dishonest

The front desk will ask your credit card for 100 deposit. Then it turns out to be 30 plus resort fee per night, mandatory. Every online booking service didn’t mention this . So I guess the hotel management decided to do this in order to attract more guests. I absolutely would cancel my reservation if they were honest about the real reason to swipe my card. Luckily, my bank will cover the loss.
