Misinformation & no response to complaints

Checked in on Thursday, January 10th for a hockey tournament in Ottawa. The gentleman at check in insured me that the hotel charges would go through the credit card number that reserved the room for 3 nights and that my credit card was only for incidentals / damages. On Sunday, January 12th the front desk staff gave contradictory information upon check out and said my card would in fact be charged with a “too bad” attitude. I sent an email to Westin Ottawa regarding the misinformation received by different staff which was ignored. The room charges did go through my credit card instead of card used for reservation. Train your staff to give the same, correct information.

This hotel has everything you want and more. Firstly, the level of security and how safe we felt was top notch. You cannot get into the elevator without scanning your card and it directs you to the elevator that will take you directly to the floor you requested. No more riding the elevator waiting for people to get on and off. Very clean everywhere and no spots are missed. Staff is beyond grateful and happy to help make your stay the best experience possible. We loved that everything is within walking distance and that it's attached to the Rideau Centre for shopping. We left our heavy jackets and boots behind and walked out the doors from the 3rd floor of the Westin for our shopping excursion. The view that we had of the city from our hotel room was exceptional and the hotel was quiet at night. The pillows, duvets and the beds were a level of comfort that I have never experienced at a hotel before. The next morning we went to the buffet for breakfast and had the best breakfast experience that I have had in years. The selection and quality of the food was like no other. There was nothing missed by these chefs. After that we grabbed our skates and toured the canal which is literally across the street by foot!!! If you are coming to Ottawa anytime soon this is hands down the place to stay. We will back!
