We stayed at **The Handlery Hotel San Diego** for a large family reunion in San Diego and it was the perfect fit for our needs. We had over **20 family members** staying at the hotel, and not a single person had a bad thing to say—which is pretty impressive for a group that size! Yes, the **exterior looks a bit dated**, but don’t let that turn you away. The rooms themselves seem to be either **recently remodeled or in the process of being updated**. Ours was very clean and comfortable, and the **bathroom was spotless**—honestly cleaner than expected. One feature we really appreciated was the **hardwood ceilings**. They added a nice aesthetic touch and, more importantly, helped keep the room quiet. We couldn’t hear a peep from any of the rooms next to us, which made for a peaceful night’s sleep. **Parking was easy and available**, priced at **$24 a night**, which is pretty reasonable for San Diego. We also had **breakfast at the hotel restaurant** and were pleasantly surprised—everything was fresh and delicious. Check in was easy and smooth big shoutout to CJ who is new at the front desk and did amazing job of getting us on the same floor also Latrice for all of her helpful information about the hotel! This is my favorite hotel. I always book when visiting San Diego. This is my 4th stay Great location, close to everything, very clean, comfortable, great staff, beautiful relaxing pool and hot tub. Very private and low key. Good restaurant and prices on food and drinks. Absolutely best value for your money. Highly recommend.

Pamela front desk was very friendly and helpful she showed me places to visit and how to use the public transportation. All the staff here are very friendly always says hello asked if you need anything. This was the first time I stayed in this area.

A bit THANK YOU to the staff and dining assistants at the Handlery Hotel staff for their kindness and professionalism. My flight to San Diego arrived VERY early Monday morning and I had a number of Zoom meetings for work and for an international conference here in town. The staff graciously allowed me to check in to my room early at no extra charge so I could rest up after a grueling flight and hold my meetings. A special thank you to PAMELA for arranging me to stay in a lovely room overlooking the courtyard swimming pool at my request and at no extra charge. I understand the hotel was constructed in the 50s. There are a number of lovely design details which are usually reserved for more expensive hotels. This hotel is very good value for money.

Love the pool! We stayed here for almost a week. We had a garden view room which had a nice outdoor area. Our room was large and loved all the hanging space. The pool area was great and also included a hot tub. The pool does get quite deep, 3m at the deepest and there are no lifeguards, just as an FYI. This hotel is approx 15mins away for any local attractions, we didn't have a car but were able to get around easily with uber. The Fashion Valley Mall is approx 20mins walk away and has a trolley station that will take you straight into San Diego city. Ensure that you bring some food options with you as it is a little isolated for late night snacks
