How we support
Throughout the month of October WestJet shows that we care about a future without breast cancer by supporting the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation.
WestJet is proud to be the official airline partner of Canadian Cancer Society (CCS) and the CIBC Run for the Cure. For the past five years WestJetters, along with their friends and families—furry family members included have participated in the Run in communities across Canada to raise much-needed funds for breast cancer research and programs to support those facing breast cancer.
Since partnering with the former Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation (now merged with the Canadian Cancer Society) in 2013, WestJet has provided the gift of flight. By assisting with reducing business administration expenses and bolstering fundraising activities, WestJet has been able to boost employee fundraising and participation in the CIBC Run for the Cure.
Since partnering with CBCF in 2013, WestJet has provided the foundation with the gift of flight. Assisting with reducing business administration expenses, incenting participation in the Run and bolstering fundraising activities, as well as encourages employee fundraising and participation in the CIBC Run for the Cure.
Since 2016, we’ve also invited WestJetters to show their support by purchasing and wearing custom-designed pink neckwear and hats with 100 per cent of sale price going to the Canadian Cancer Society in support of breast cancer research, education, support and information programs.
As an airline, we travel millions of miles every year. But during the CIBC Run for the Cure we log perhaps our most important miles - on foot. Over the past five years, WestJet and our employees have raised more than $441,000 as we are committed to making breast cancer beatable.
