WestJet Guest Updates
Conclusion of Cuba Service Suspension
Updated February 27, 2026
We know how important your travel plans are, and we recognize that the suspension of our Cuba service may have caused disruption and disappointment. This was a difficult decision, made as we prioritized the care of our guests and crew and protected the integrity of our broader operation through an orderly wind-down of our winter service to Cuba
As of February 18, 2026, the WestJet Group has officially concluded its winter operations to Cuba. This suspension applied to WestJet, Sunwing Vacations, WestJet Vacations, and Vacances WestJet Québec. Sales to Cuba remain suspended until April 25, 2026.
Over the past several weeks, our teams focused on the safe and orderly return of guests in destination while maintaining close coordination with local partners. All remaining return flights were operated, with aircraft carrying sufficient fuel to ensure reliable departures without reliance on local availability.
At no time were there safety or security concerns for our guests in Cuba.
Guests with future southbound bookings were contacted directly and provided options, including refunds or flexible changes to alternate destinations.
We understand that travel disruptions can be stressful, and we are grateful for the flexibility and understanding shown by our guests and frontline teams throughout this process.
While service to Cuba remains suspended, this update applies only to Cuba operations and does not impact other destinations within our network.
We will continue to monitor the situation and will share updates should our plans change in the future.
Thank you again for your continued trust.
