A Fantastic resort with red flags...

We visited Los Cabos and stayed in Garza Blanca resort during the 2nd week of June and just got back yesterday. Still on the highs of the beauty that is the sandy beaches, the roaring waves and warm balmy weather and seabreeze. This resort suite is exceptional. The suite that we booked was grand and afforded us space with our little one who spends his day running around at home and outdoors and needed the space a suite affords. It also allowed us some breathing space when we tuck him in at night for sleep time in the bedroom and still have a living space to lounge in. The facilities are pristine, the pools afford kids and adults of all ages to lounge around in the daytime. There was a kiddie pool that our 15 month old absolutely loved splashing in all day long while we were served exceptional poolside drinks and food by very friendly staff. The restaurants and food trucks equally serve some exceptional food. The breakfast buffet was consistently very good with a quesadilla station to boot. For dinners, we mostly had to dine at the food truck or were constrained to in room dining since they seem to have some weird policy about not allowing take outs from the restaurants. Shout outs to Abraham at the food truck for some amazing recommendations - flank steak, shrimp aguachiles, droolwrothy stuff. We managed to dine out one night at Blanca and the food there was exceptional as well. The mixology and drinks they serve at all bars and poolside are top craft too. The wait staff everywhere is so very friendly and accomodating, couldn't ask for better hospitality there. Unfortunately, all of this is coupled with clumsy middle management, ill trained concierges with rude/clumsy manners stemming possibly from lack of hospitality training or a lack respect for all patrons. The first night we were checking in, after a grueling flight with an overtired and hangry toddler late at night, under the guise of familiarizing us with the property, the concierge tried to peddle time share opportunities and wouldn't take no for an answer. I had read about this earlier, but was caught off guard. This whole effort came across as pre-determined and clumsy, the concierge himself was perfectly polite but hey, read the room dude. The second night my wife had an even weirder interaction with the concierge, Sunday June 8th night. We were a little disappointed with the in room dining and usually couldn't go out at night after our toddler sleeps off early. My wife was hoping to get some takeout from one of the restaurants for dinner and so hoped to get some consideration from front desk, who the various restaurant staffs directed her to. We understand there may be rules that don't allow the management to make such accommodations, but the way this concierge reacted to my wife's request was appalling, to say the least. For some reason, she seemed to think people of our ilk should be grateful to be afforded the chance to stay at this resort. Her exact words and phrases she used - "You should have read the rules before you booked. Maybe eat early by 5.30 if you can't eat out late" - When we were unsure since the messaging seemed inconsistent with takeouts being allowed at certain places. "You're already getting great value for the money you paid" - For god knows what, as if to indicate that patrons get treated by the staff based on the tier of suites they rent and the kind of brands they sport. She seemed to think we were priveleged to stay there? "People like you and me, we're not like these other big people who can be afforded luxuries" - In response to perhaps my wife having been dressed modestly at night after a tiring couple of days of travel and corraling our toddler around pools. At no point during any of these interactions was my wife adverserial or combative. She was just spoken down to by a very rude concierge who seemed to think she was beneath her time and lucky to be there. All of this left a very bitter taste to what would have been an otherwise stellar experience. We have never had such hostile interactions with front desks/concierges at any of the 5 star resorts we've stayed at in the US or other places as the staff is usually well trained to be genial, even when they have to firmly decline or hold the line on anything. The general standoffishness and clumsy interactions with concierges here gives us pause before choosing this place without hesitation for a return visit to Cabo or other destinations like PV or cancun where Garza Blanca operates.
Horrible customer service

I stayed in this resort I 2022, decided to go back and made a reservation through their website, After speaking to many friends they said the service levels and food quality had fallen dramatically.. i decided to cancel, the website and confirmation information provides no option to cancel except to “contact the hotel”, I emailed reservations three times, no response. I called the hotel and selected modify the reservation option.. on hold for TEN minutes, I hung up. Called back again… on hold for another five minutes… called back again and selected the make reservation button and within five seconds got an operator… she told me she has to transfer me to another operator… i told her my situation and after another six minutes she got me an operator who wanted to grill me on WHY i need to cancel the reservation.. I told ger to just cancel it… then she tells me it will take 21 DAYS to refund my 30% deposit!! IF THIS IS HOW YOU ARE TREATED … IMAGINE WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU ACTUALLY STAY THERE.. SPEND A LITTLE MORE AND STAY AT THE GRAND VELAS INSTEAD!
Sales presentation

Make no mistake about it. This is a timeshare presentation maybe even worse. The staff is very friendly. The facility is excellent but you’re still at a timeshare with HOA fees and sales tactics. You will be promised gifts that if you don’t purchase, you will not receive so be prepared For a three hour sales presentation when they promise you 75 minutes and the gifts that you were promised, if you do not purchase will be very hard to receive.
Overall we enjoyed our stay.

1 of my Best Birthday Trips

My yearly birthday trip to my “home away from home” was 1 for the books! As always the impeccable, service, the food, the staff, the drinks were always fantastic! My wonderful Butlers Omar & Luis took such good care of me & my travel partner all week long! We arrived to ballons, wine, & chocolates on our 1st night in Cabo! Totally made my day! ?? My favorite dinner was at NOI, the new rooftop restaurant was wonderful! The view, the fireworks and the food was delicious! We both had wonderful facials at the gorgeous Spa & used the amenities as well. Breakfast @ Blanca Blue was the best breakfast I’ve ever had! Between the homemade fresh a little bit fruit smoothies, fresh crêpes, and everything else you could possibly ask for between Mexican food and your typical breakfast food, it was all delicious. We had wonderful weather, great Pool staff like Tomas & Christian always taking the few min’s to chat with us! I highly recommend the Baja fish tacos! ??
