The staff was very nice and you could tell they were trying to make our stay great. But the hotel needs work. A slice of tomato and a pickle remained on the floor just outside our room the entire time, indicating a lack of cleanliness in common areas. The toilet flusher broke, which caused inconvenience. There were broken bricks scattered in the sand on the beach, creating a safety hazard. The indoor breakfast buffet area was uncomfortably hot due to the lack of air conditioning, making it difficult to enjoy the meals.
The Royal level team truly made us feel like royalty!

We celebrated our anniversary with the occidental and the royal level team went above and beyond to ensure it was as special as possible. We woke that day to a banner on our door with balloons and they arranged a five star meal for us, complete with a personalized anniversary cake. We spent 7 days at the resort and were made to feel like royalty everyday. We were able to experience each restaurant once and some more than once. Not one night were we not able to have a reservation thanks to these wonderful ladies! Even outside of our anniversary we were surprised with champagne and strawberries, followed by a phone call to make sure we received them. The entire resort was equally impressive as well was the entire staff! Each member went out of their way to make sure our vacation was as great as possible! Not only will we be back, we will be letting everyone we know, know how great the occidental is and championing the Royal level! Thank you so much, but especially the Royal level team!
