Thank you Andrea

Andrea at the front desk was INCREDIBLE and super accommodating after a very stressful situation. She is an asset to this operation, and we cannot thank her enough for her help. The room is great, the view is even better, and we are finally at ease.

The hotel was great but even better was the food and especially the service at the Steel Pan. Tijmen, was an excellent server!!

Great location, a cross the street from the beach. You have chairs on the beach and very helpful beach attendant Rubin. Walking distance to restaurants.
Beautiful Views, But Major Comfort Issues

I recently stayed at the Sonesta Fort Lauderdale Beach in an Ocean Curve room, and I’ll start with the positive: the view is truly stunning. Waking up to that ocean panorama is easily the highlight of the property and I am glad I booked the room category. That said, several aspects of the experience fell short of what I expect from a hotel charging a daily resort fee. The fee itself wouldn’t have been an issue if the property actually offered resort-level amenities. Unfortunately, a small, kid-sized pool tucked into the back doesn’t qualify as a resort feature. There were no meaningful amenities that justified the added cost, and the overall setup felt more like a standard hotel than anything resembling a resort. Service was another disappointment. Aside from one helpful front desk associate and our server on December 22, most of the staff seemed tired, disengaged, and frankly unwelcoming. There were no smiles, no warmth, and no sense of hospitality. For a beachfront property that markets itself as an elevated experience, the lack of energy from the team was noticeable. The biggest issue, however, was the air conditioning. For three nights, the AC repeatedly shut off throughout the night, making it impossible to sleep comfortably. I reported this multiple times during my stay, but the problem was never resolved. While I did receive a discount at checkout, that’s not what anyone wants to deal with on vacation. I would have much preferred that the issue be fixed so I could actually rest. Overall, the Sonesta has potential thanks to its location and views, but the service, amenities, and room comfort need serious attention. I hope management takes these concerns seriously, because right now the experience doesn’t match the “resort” label.
