A friend and I stayed here as we wanted a room with a mini kitchen so that we could buy some groceries and eat in which we utilized and appreciated. We were pleasantly surprised our room felt like an apartment as the bedroom is separated from the living room and kitchen area. It is an older place but we didn't mind as the place was clean and quiet. The views of the mountains were amazing! Great location as it's close to the beach and shopping. A couple of minor disappointing things to mention: The front desk staff could definitely improve on their Aloha welcoming spirit by smiling and greeting guests in a such a manner. Also, they don't clean the rooms on a daily basis like most hotels do which is a shame as that is part of the vacation experience. Other than that, we had a very pleasant stay. I recommend this hotel for those on a budget. Mahalo!

Stunning ocean view, clean room and friendly staff. The noise was very minimal. We stayed on the 34th floor. The room was kept very nice and cool.

My family and I always stay at the Waikiki Sunset when we travel inter-island, for work. We love the location which is toward the Honolulu Zoo. The rooms are equipped with everything we need including a large refrigerator, freezer, stove, oven and all the pots, pans and utensils. The rooms are comfortable and spacious for our children. We enjoy the pool and amenities. Parking is convenient, however I learned to pay at the gate rather than the lobby kiosk because it over charges you at an hourly rate rather than a daily $35 rate. Close walking distance to shops, restaurants and the beach! The staff are nice and helpful. Will be back soon!

This was our second year staying at the Aston Waikiki Sunset, and we continue to enjoy it. The front desk staff is very friendly and welcoming, making check-in and check-out smooth and pleasant. The parking garage is conveniently located and easy to access, making a significant difference when exploring the island by car. There was one brief fire alarm on October 20, 2025, around 4:00 PM, and I would have appreciated some follow-up information afterward. Also, while the daily local newspaper was listed as part of the amenity/resort fee, it was not delivered during our stay. Overall, we had a comfortable and positive experience once again, and we look forward to returning.

We had a great stay at the Waikiki Sunset and enjoyed the facilities the hotel had to offer. The room, although dated, was clean, had the amenities we wanted and was comfortable. We had great views of the mountains with lovely sunrises. The staff were very responsive to any requests we had. The elevators were not as slow as some reviews have mentioned. All in all a great location for our stay in Waikiki.
