It is an older hotel and needs a refresh; stained hallway carpets, slow elevators etc. But the rooms have a full kitchen and utensils, and BBQs are available in the swimming pool area : great for doing your breakfast or lunch in your room, besides BBQing outside etc. Service is a bit regimental and inflexible. Excellent location in Waikiki, close to the beach, shops, and bus stop

The hotel is in a great location being very close to the beach. The staff were friendly, but it seems that everyone in Hawaii is friendly. The main issue is that the entire hotel is very tired and needs renovation. It would have been a great hotel in its day but is overdue for work to bring it up to standard. The room price is very reasonable but suspect that is because it needs work.

Great location, which was why I chose it. I had paid for a room with a view and I certainly got that ! Car parking next door was rather expensive but this was made clear when I booked, and that is a hazard of staying in a city. THe only downside was that on the 27th floor there is no internet, I was given sign in details by the reception, but why bother when they know it doesn't work ?? When I came down to ask about it I was told that "some" units don't have wifi as it doesn't reach but I could go and sit in a communal area and use it. While wifi is not critical, when it states that you get high speed internet as part of the exorbitant resort fee that you have to pay, you should get it. As a visitor from out of the country I rely on having wifi where I stay to keep in touch with family and going to sit somewhere else really is not convenient. |To be fair, the lady |I spoke to said I could speak to the manager about changing rooms the next day, but this would mean a lower floor, so my sea view that I paid for would probably be gone. All in all I would recommend this hotel.

This property has a nice quiet location on the edge of Waikiki. While the building has an older feel, the staff make up for it with their friendliness and helpfulness. I was not only able to store my bags pre-checkin and post-checkout, they also gave me post-checkout access to the pool deck so that I could shower and freshen up ahead of my evening pickup and redeye flight.

The room is beautiful and very clean and the beds are the comfiest ever! The location is great to move around Waikiki and Honolulu. We had some problem with Wi-Fi though cause it wasn’t working in the room! But a part from that I would suggest staying at Aston Waikiki Sunset.
