Tux & Tails Black Tie event for Hawaii Humane Society

U4119KWfrank (Garden City, New York) on Apr 27, 2024

We attended the Tux & Tails Fundraising Event for the Hawaii Humane Society in the Ballroom. The Governor of Hawaii - Josh Green and Mayor Blangiardi of Honolulu were in attendance. A spectacular event and even though the gorgeous (and newly crowned) Miss. Hawaii was there, it was the animals that caught everyone's attention! The Alohilani is a beautiful hotel if you want to hold an event, and if not - the restaurants are amazing, the food spectacular (excellent chef) and the staff was very well-trained and attentive. The location of this hotel is right on Waikiki Beach and all within walking distance to the shops and directly across the street from the beach. Not that you needed it, but it was comforting to know that the police station was also a block away. If I were to go back, the elegant Alohilani would be my frist choice

Alohilani resort by far the worst!

You will get a better bank for your buck if you stay in any place than here. The internet doesn’t work at all… they take service request and throw that in a waste basket.

Great Location - not overcrowded

Soytimoteo (Alameda, California) on Apr 23, 2024

This was a great location just far enough from the crowded shopping areas but close enough to walk everywhere. The only thing that was a bit frustrating was that the at least two of the elevators seemed to be out of service. I was there for a week and it felt like an eternity of stop and go to get to and from my room… especially if I forgot to grab something. As a solo traveler I was happy with the location, it was easy to walk everywhere… especially the beach, the aquarium, and the Diamond Head neighborhood. When needed the self parking garage was super easy to get in and out of. Pool area was nice, although there was some construction which seemed to limit lounges… wedding party took over the hot tub and pool area a few of the days I was there… so that was a challenge but nothing upsetting. Just went to the beach. Overall I would stay again.

Not quite reaching the heights it thinks it deserves

Not a bad hotel really but staff need to really try harder to make people feel welcome. More interested in getting the credit card charged with the deposit than offering assistance.

Very Disappointing

Thomas S (Wollongong, Australia) on Apr 21, 2024

We waited 30 mins for checkin because computers were down for 8 days. The elevators were not working well and all customers waited ages for a lift. One morning no elevators worked and we had to walk down 38 floors. Our room was serviced once in 7 days,no toilet paper, no towels.TV not working for 12 hours. The worst thing was that we told desk staff 3 times .Yes we fix ,but nothing. Then we had to complain about our bill which was about $500 too much. This was fixed. We eventually asked to see a manager and he said very sorry. Never experienced so many problems at a hotel before.
