AMAZING staff; entertainment team (Abraham, Daniel, Alex, Alejandra, Ximena and Amir did an awesome job making sure everyone feels welcome and having fun; Pool bar team, Enrique, Joyce, Willian and Romario and restaurants staff were extremely professional. Unfortunately the hotel needs maintenance urgently.

Just got back from 8 days at this resort. I can’t say enough good about it. Does it need a face lift? Sure. But that’s definitely not something you’ll focus on. Bring sunscreen and don’t walk on the beach without shoes. That sand is HOT!! You will burn your feet. I was told this is the first Secrets resort, built in 2011. That’s 13 years of constant guests, use of facilities, etc. I think it’s in great shape for all that use. There was no chair game. They’re plentiful. Please note it’s the off season and I’d gladly come again at this time of year. No long lines, no waiting for drinks. Just perfect. Food: I didn’t have a bad meal while there. The beauty is if you don’t like something, order something else. They’re more than happy to accommodate you. That being said, the staff is incredible! Carlos, from VIP Services, sent me a picture of the itinerary with activities, restaurants and shows daily. It was so helpful. Never did we have to wonder what was open on what day. He also handled scheduling our beach dinner and hibachi reservations. Thank you, Carlos ?? We are UVC members and went for an update meeting. Alejandro, Alain, and Josue were awesome! Josue and Alejandro explained and went over things in great detail, not leaving us until questions were all answered. They didn’t gloss over anything. All three were very genuine and caring. I greatly appreciate it. At the restaurants, we had the pleasure of being taken care of by Julian at Cin Cin, Javier at Tamarindo, Juvenito at Castaway, Julio at the swim up bar, both Ronaldos at the beach and pool, Felipe at Spice, and daily for breakfast was the sweet Adilene. She was so attentive to us. Vincent was our server for the beach dinner. He was so professional and personable. Grabbing quick food at Barefoot Grill was great for a midday bite. Room service was quick and efficient. Now for the great big shout outs. The Entertainment Team. Alejandro,Abraham, Alejandra, Amir, and Daniel. You guys made our vacation so memorable. From teaching Kevin to play pickleball (he loved it) to challenging him to archery, you helped him have a great time and didn’t let him win. Lol! He appreciates and respects that ultra competitive spirit yet fun and lighthearted. Alejandro took me in his kayak for the tour and would tell me to stop paddling to take pictures and video. He was chock full of knowledge and I could tell he truly loves what he does and was excited to show off the incredible landscape and wildlife of his home. I feel so fortunate to have been on that tour with him. This was my first time kayaking and it won’t be my last. Alejandro, thank you for such an incredible experience and taking video! You are top notch! The pool volleyball games were so much fun. Even though I never got a happy hour. The competition gets everyone laughing. There’s some net pushing and pulling to get extra points and it just makes the whole thing hilarious. The shows were great. The best I’ve seen at a resort. The dancers are so talented. We took part in the Perfect Couole game and lost but we laughed to tears. So much fun! This Entertainment Team is the commendable. They work so hard and it shows. Their energy is unmatched! We did do some spa treatments thanks to Marla’s recommendations. The hydrotherapy circuit was nice. It was my first time doing that. I’ll do it again. Please don’t be on the fence about visiting this resort. You will be treated like royalty. The resort is kept immaculate. Staff is continually cleaning everything, keeping it shining and gorgeous. The views cannot be beat and never get old. From the glow of the sun rising against the rocks, the pelicans and hawks overhead, the incredible amount of butterflies, and the crashing of the waves, all the way to the hermit crabs in the sand that made us laugh while they’d hide in their shells, the setting is what dreams are made of. This was one of my favorite vacations ever. Secrets Huatulco resort is just magical!
