Great Stay!

Andrea F on May 26, 2025

The accommodations are beautiful and comfortable. Staff is courteous. The overall stay was great. There are many amenities on site. There are also nearby shops. The beach is beautiful. The only negative is that you have to pay for parking. Otherwise, it was great.

Great Beach, But Beware the Mosquitoes

arthurxli (Upland, California) on May 25, 2025

We just stayed at this property, and overall, it met our expectations as a standard Westin property — clean and comfortable room, a cozy bed, and of course, a stunning beach just steps away. However, one major downside was the mosquitoes. Every night we found ourselves getting bitten, which made it very hard to get a good night’s sleep. While we understand that this might be a seasonal issue and hard to fully control, the hotel could at least consider providing mosquito repellent in the rooms. It was honestly unbearable at times. Service was also underwhelming. When I asked for a one-hour late check-out, the receptionist simply said no — no explanation, no attempt to accommodate or even sound empathetic. Beautiful location, but the lack of attention to guest comfort and service left us disappointed.

poor service and cleaning

328babe (Walnut Creek, California) on May 21, 2025

We were told we would get one cleaning half way through our stay. We left wash cloths on the floor of the shower to be taken out. They left them which is also a sign that the shower was not cleaned. They made the bed with the sheets going the wrong direction so they didn’t tuck in. I have NEVER stayed at a hotel where I had to remake the bed. REALLY!!!! We drove up to the Port Courier where a nice looking young bell man was standing. He had to move out of the driveway so our car could stop. Shouldn’t that be his cue to open my door. He just walked off. The issue here is this is a timeshare. The problem with timeshares is, if you own one, you pay in advance. In a normal hotel situation, you do not return if the service isn’t good. There is no incentive to keep the services high. At the timeshare presentation they said that the cleaning crew was a new contract. The older cleaners left for other islands after the fire in Lahaina. That fire was two years ago. Everyone in the service industry should know how to make a bed and pick up towels that were getting moldy by the hour in humid Hawaii. If you don’t have to come here because you own a timeshare, the stay at a regular hotel.

A fine place!

Richard H (Denver, Colorado) on May 19, 2025

We stayed at a two bedroom in the newer part of the resort. Very roomy bedrooms bathrooms and great room (Kitchen, Dining, living, balcony with table for 6). Comfortable beds, basics in the kitchen (but nothing more than salt and pepper as pantry). Easy to spend time in the unit, especially on the balcony. Nice pool, beach, boardwalk areas. We liked to restaurants on site. It is a short boardwalk or beach walk to get to restaurants at the next door resorts. Know before you go: One can Valet park ($) or self park for free in their garage. Nice, keeps the car cool. It is easy to just taxi/Uber/Shuttle to the hotel and take the area shuttle up and down the coast to Lahaina or other resort bases, saving $ on a rental car that can just sit there. Lots of "opportunity" to listen to Timeshare programs (we declined). We came in May, so mostly adults and preschoolers in the pool. Book your golf thru the Concierge and often get a nice discount.

Maui Fune

Cynthia M (Oakley, California) on May 09, 2025

Our first time at Westin Nanea. The pool was really nice. We sat around there for awhile. We also liked how they had bbq's throughout the property. Made it very convenient. We also liked the bar right next to the pool. Great walking trails. We went to Duke's restaurant which is only a couple hundred feet away. the rooms are big and spacious. We would definitely go again.
