Convenient Disney Stay with Friendly Staff
sarahseattlewa (Seattle, Washington) on Nov 28, 2025
Great location near Disney—walkable, though we used Uber after long park days. My kids loved how welcoming the staff were, and the Executive Lounge offered good food choices. Perfect spot for families visiting Disney!
Quiet and Comfortable Property
Maria Z (Melbourne, Australia) on Nov 09, 2025
We booked a 4 night stay in a Deluxe King Room for our recent trip to the Disneyland Park and an Anaheim Duck’s match. The room was appears to be recently renovated, clean and spacious, with a walk in shower, full bathtub and a separate seating area with a desk, armchair and couch (it appeared that the couch may be converted into a sofa bed.) There was sufficient storage with a large closet and shelving in the bathroom and we were able to move around the room well with our two large suitcases stored open on the floor. The bed was comfortable and the additional amenities such as in-room iron / ironing board, refrigerator and bathroom amenities such as a hairdryer, shower caps, and multiple bars of soap were appreciated. Despite being located near Disneyland, there was no Disneyland décor in the hotel (a very nice point of differentiation as I could go to ANY other property in the area to experience this) but a visit to the rooftop bar will provide you with a great view of the Park. The property is located within a 20 minute walk from the Disneyland Park, with a few dining options a short walk away. The hotel is next door to the Anaheim Garden Walk so we were able to pick up a coffee and a snack at Starbucks or Paris Baguette before heading to the Park each day. There were also a few sit down dining options within a 5 minute walk of the property (Cheesecake Factory, California Pizza Kitchen) We have stayed at multiple properties, across different price points, in the Disneyland area over the years, and based on our experience, the JW Marriott is the most comfortable property we have stayed in. I would recommend to others.
Hotel Nice - Meeting Service Very Poor
Getaway12124150649 (Texas) on Nov 07, 2025
I’ve stayed at this resort a few times for business, generally I’ve had positive experiences. I decided to host a conference here for a large group of leaders from my organization over 4 days. Unfortunately this was the time the hotel fell well below expectations. Firstly on arrival, I was changed from a king size room to 2 doubles, not a huge deal, but still a shaky start. I went down to check the room for the meeting to find out they had we had been adjusted to accommodate a sports team next door. It was now long and narrow with a single screen in the middle that the people on the edges could not see. It was shocking to think the staff believed this was acceptable. Thankfully the AV provider agreed to set-up another screen so the meeting could be functional if not comfortable. Day one of the meeting, the air conditioning comes on in the room and the light fixture starts vibrating so badly we could not hear the presenters. Reported it to maintenance, but it was not repaired and only stopped when the air cut off. It disrupted the flow as the air came off and on. Day 2 the same thing happened, this time it goes on for about 45 mins non-stop, we were told maintenance would come and take a look, they never showed up. It was so bad, the AV provider went to find a ladder himself and put some felt in between the glass to fix it, it felt like the JW team didn’t care. To make matters worse they were supposed to be testing the fire alarm for around 5 mins, the test went on for 25 mins, it was unbearable. Day 3 I left a potable power-bank in the meeting room after it concluded, I went down to grab it and it was gone, asked front desk to see if it had been handed in, it was gone. This one is my fault for leaving it, but I do expect honesty from the hotel. We had a couple of evening events planned at the hotel and we coordinated with them to bring in some external entertainment. On the Wednesday night we had a function outdoors, that was planned to run until 11pm. The hotel informed us after we stated it had to finish at 10pm. I would at least have expected to be informed in the lead-up. Overall just a lot of let down from what I’d expect from this level of property, especially as we had booked rooms for almost 50 people over multiple nights. I did report my disappointment to the JW team, the response was a shrug of the shoulder and thank you for the feedback, that was it. The only reason I’ve not given a lower score is because the food was very good and the service staff was great, I just wish the events staff showed the same level of customer service. We had another couple of groups considering this location for events, unfortunately I’ll be recommending they stay clear. Overall, good hotel but overall it was a disappointing product they provided for the conference.
JW Marriott Anaheim, CA - Worse Customer Experience
Kelly L on Nov 05, 2025
First off, I recently achieved Ambassador Elite status with Marriott Bonvoy a few months ago. I received a very nice email from the Ambassador Elite Concierge team with my own personal Concierge. I was very excited although hoping I would never really have to used them for anything. Well, I learned a lot about this so-called service provided by Marriott and after our recent stay at the JW Marriott Anaheim, I can confirm what many have already reviewed – it is really a “smoke and mirror” service – they really do not add much value. I will circle back to this. As my work brings me to Anaheim, CA every month for at least 10 days, I stay very often at the JW Marriott as the team there was very good and it was a nice property. But, I can certainly say that on my most recent stay last week, it was 110% the worse experience I have had at any Marriott property. It first started off with a relatively simple room request. When I made the original booking, my wife and daughter were both joining me for the trip so we need two Queen beds. It ended up that my daughter could not travel with us and it was only my wife and myself. I had emailed the Guest Recognition Coordinator at the JW Anaheim a few days before arrival as they send out an email a few weeks before arrival asking if you need any assistance planning your trip. Usually, I get an answer as I know them but this time nothing. Already probably not a good sign. (Please see attached photos for email correspondence.) Upon arrival at check-in, I request to see if any message has been passed down to accommodate a room change to a King bed but nothing has. Then I ask the front desk team to see if there are any rooms available with a King bed and he advised that unfortunately, everything is sold out but to check back later in the week. So out of curiosity, after we settle in, I go online at Marriott.com to book a room to see room availability and I can book a room with a King bed and/or a Suite that has a King bed for the exact dates we were staying. At this point, my frustration level is rising. So, they have regular King rooms available but for whatever reason do not make the change. Then, with my status at Marriott, they usually offer a complimentary upgrade to a Suite which is also available for the entire duration of our stay. If you do not want to offer a solution when it was available for whatever reason, that is fine but be honest with your customers. The next morning, I sent an email with screenshots of the room availability online to both my “personal” Amabassador Elite Concierge and to Jovani Guzman, Director of Room Operations at the JW Anaheim explaining the situation to see if they can assist with my request. From Mr. Guzman, there is no response at all for the duration of my stay – radio silence, almost like he was just trying to avoid the situation. To be fair, I know someone did try to call me on the Monday morning from JW Anaheim but as I was in meetings, I could not answer. But there was no message left and no email response. If Marriott as an organization allows their properties to send out such emails below to guests before they arrive, they are setting expectations that they should live up to or else, do not pretend to be a premium brand. (Please see attached photos for email correspondence.) As for the Ambassador Elite Concierge, this is the response and resolution provided and after this, radio silence. No follow-up to see if a resolution was had. After the email below, I once again re-emphasized with screenshots included that it was clear rooms with King beds were available and I would go online to book them. (Please see attached photos for email correspondence.) Still to this day, a week after our stay, no one from either JW Anaheim or the Ambassador Elite has attempted to reach out. Honestly, this type of Customer Service does not live up to the brand that Marriott and JW Marriott market themselves to be. Moving on to the quality at JW Anaheim it has really decreased tremendously over the past months. One of the robes in our room had a hole in it. There were cob webs above the window. The bathtub was not cleaned properly and had a brown stain ring around the drain. The Lounge had an automated coffee machine that was down for the entire duration of our 10 day stay. Two nights when we went up to the Lounge to make a tea, we could not get hot water from the automated coffee machine as it was not working so we had to try and get water from the thermos that is there. But at 9:00pm, an hour before the Lounge closes, they already did not refill the hot water. The team there was kind enough to microwave some water for us. They also missed two days of room cleaning even after reminders. The second time, I had requested that they at least send up some replacement towels which was confirmed by telephone and also within the app. And of course, nothing showed up until the next day cleaning. Service at the pool side bar was also terrible. My wife waited by the window to place an order and nobody acknowledged her although servers walked by not busy and one even stepped in front of her to open the window. We can honestly say, that the only team at the JW Anaheim that provided consistent premium and attentive service was the team at Toca where we had breakfast most of the time. They were friendly, accommodating and customer-first focused. We have stayed for more than 135 nights this year at various Marriott properties and many nights at the JW Anaheim, and this was by far the absolute worse experience. We wanted to share this review to create awareness to others planning on staying at the JW Marriott Anaheim – which is an expensive property – that unfortunately, the quality and service has dropped to an unacceptable level. For that price and service, you should really consider other Marriott properties in the Anaheim area.
Short GNO to attend Disney’s Oogie Boogie Bash

Staff was amazing! Room was perfect! Short walk to Disney’s Oogie Boogie bash. Scott was excellent from welcoming me in the concierge lounge to calling for my car in valet. It’s the little things that they do right
