Beautiful experience

Raymundo N on Jun 15, 2024

Excellent experience over all. Great selection of the food , the drinks and the pool were except. The hot tubs were not working. Our server Jesus Fajardo was a great host. Mexican night was also great. Variety of food drinks and the entertainment was great. It demonstrated different dances from different states of Mexico.

Fantastic service!

Resort19035795099 on Jun 14, 2024

We had the best service ever from Axel, Freddie and Rafael. The staff is very courteous. This is the best resort we have stayed at in Cabo and we come every year. The rooms are great. The regular rooms that are not an ocean view still have a great view of the ocean from the balcony. San Jose is the best place to stay in Cabo.

Italian dinner is good

Shani R on Jun 14, 2024

Orlando was our waiter and he was awesome. All the dishes were tasty. I had the stuffed fish with spinach and cheese which was cooked well. The salmon carpaccio was excellent. Then ended my meal with yummy chocolate cake and ice cream. Check out La Gondola if you stay here.

Mediocre at best

Judy D on Jun 13, 2024

I have been to Mexico 8 times, with friends, as a couple and now as a family. I normally don’t write reviews as I give my opinion on group forums etc… but I thought to start as I know a lot of people rely on these reviews to plan their vacations. I do know what to expect and what I want from these resorts. First off, the resort is beautiful and very well maintain but does need some updating. It is a small resort (which is common in Cabo) If you are traveling as a family with kids, I would suggest going elsewhere. There really isn’t much to do. On paper it sounds great but when we were there, there were no nightly show (no theater) they have karaoke (but to me that’s not entertainment) the kids club is very small and never seem to be open, just 1 main pool that we spent most of our time at. There’s an adult pool by the beach. No water park or anything for kids at the pool. We walked to a nearby grocery store and bought some floaty. My son did still had a fantastic time. The staff and people at the resort are lovely and our favorite during our entire trip. It is an older crowd there, so keep that in mind if you are looking to party, this is not a place for you. It’s very quiet (which I like) but almost a little too quiet. As i mentioned it really lacks in entertainment. Absolutely nothing to do other then eat and go to the pool. I saved the this for last: Food! The food is mediocre and my husband who have NEVER gotten sick from food in his life, sadly experienced his first food illness here. (This is with us taking Dukoral before the trip) I think it’s the made to order grill, there are long lines and it takes about 30 minutes if you want the grill meats (which i didn’t get) it was undercooked and is why he probably gotten ill from it. My son and I never had it so we were okay. There’s not many selection at dinner buffet. I do enjoy breakfast and lunch as I like to stick to omelettes and sandwiches. (There wasn’t much selection) the desserts are good though. The reservations for specialty restaurants were easy, we managed to try all of them. The Mexican is our favorite and service was good. The Italian restaurant, our server didn’t really want to serve us, and like I said, I’ve been to 8 all inclusive, this is the first time, we were limited on what we order. I was not impress with the service and the meal in general. The Alfredo pasta (i don’t have high expectations at all inclusive) but it’s travesty. The service at that restaurant was the worst I’ve ever experienced in all of my Mexico trips, probably in all of my trips (I travel quite a bit) so that says a lot. (I’m not high maintenance nor picky) but he was rude and just gave off the vibe that that he doesn’t want to serve us. I left him a good tip regardless. The sushi at the lookout was a great experience, server was ultra friendly, but it was just him there so everything took a long time. It was still a good experience and view was gorgeous up there. I highly recommend just for the experience. To summarize, if you are looking for a safe and relax time, sit at pool as beach is not swimable (but still gorgeous) older crowd, don’t care too much about food, this is the place for you. If you are a family with young kids or teens, I suggest going somewhere with more entertainment and better selection of food. If you are here to party, I would go to San Lucas. If you are looking for 5 star luxury, I would look elsewhere. Although mini bar is one of the most well stocked I’ve ever seen. This is our 2nd time at a Barcelo, the first time was at their premium hotel which is the Palace deluxe and it is a huge difference. All in all we enjoyed our stay but it’s not much to report, it’s mediocre.

Great vacation spot

Beautiful surroundings. The walk on the beach is priceless. The staff, including Christian and Jerusalem, were outstanding. Very family friendly. Amenities for kids as well as adults. Also lots of food choices, even for picky eaters. Will definitely return.
