Relaxing. Beautiful grounds. Mold/mildew problem in room 1124
Biannualtraveler360 (Mazatlan, Mexico) on Jul 03, 2025
The resort is beautiful. AI worth it when you purchase it on sale. The adult pool was relaxing. The big pool was great for families. I especially enjoyed the daily giant beach ball volleyball game. We stayed in room 1124. Biggest issue was the musty smell and mold/mildew in the room. Had me wheezing every night and morning. Had to air our bags outdoors for days and double wash our clothes when we got home. This room was the second room offered to us and it was better than the first. Talking to others at the pool they said the remodeled buildings near the bistro don’t have that issue. Didn’t learn this until evening 5/7 or we would have asked for a room change. We went in June to celebrate my daughters high school graduation and college send off. Light warm rain at times. Some days the weather was noticeably humid. June is the start of the rainy season and the off season for tourists. It was mainly locals staying at the resort. Staff told us many times that most tourists to come from November through February. Spa was fantastic. Massage. Facial. And the hydrotherapy room was relaxing. Give at least an hour to enjoy the hydrotherapy.
Very old resort, no customer service, limited options to eat and drink, shady management!
Far_Horizons (San Francisco, California) on Jul 03, 2025
The options to eat, drink and spend time at this resort are severely limited. Very old broken down property. There is constant painting and repair. We had to tolerate the stink of the fresh paint or something in our room all the time we were there. We ended up going to Mazatlan city and spending most of our time there. Another aspect was the all inclusive they initially sold us. The meal plans for a family of 5 cost upwards of $2800 as sold by the reservation team on the phone. But as we read the reviews we regretted it right away. As we had a timeshare plan, we called and canceled the meal plan 1 month in advance. I was told we will get a refund of -$2800 within a month. After 6 months they have not given it to me giving one excuse after another. It's a shady business and I won't recommend it to anyone. Our actual meal and drink cost ended up being only less than $500. Seriously, mind blown! The other concern was safety. Our doors didn't close properly as the property is very old. We had a drunk and high on something individual break into our room in the middle of the night and jumped into one of the beds!! Nightmare! Will not recommend it for any family. The management said it happens!!
