While the rooms are a bit dated, coming from many visits to Cuba I was not shocked. However, when my 2 girlfriends and I were escorted to ?2 on the quiet side, it felt like our own cottage on the seaside! Our time there was like heaven. Our room was huge, we had our own mini terrace out front with ocean view, chairs in the sand ( a short walk to the left and down some stairs to the ocean), and everything within a short walk. The resort is laid out so that everything faces the ocean in a line. Our rooms were farthest on the left, then L-R were vendors, a la carte, hot tub, entertainment area and bar, buffet restaurant, lobby walkway, main building rooms, pools area, bar, snack bar, then on to RD Cornwall Beach. The beach was a bit broken up but IMHO this just made it easier to have privacy with your group. The sand is coarse which means it can be hard to walk in if you have knee trouble but I found that if I exited the water right along the boardwalk going out into the water I could hold onto that. The hot tub was heated! (unlike Cuba), Glitters nightclub was super-fun, and we met 3 lovely young ladies from NY(girl power) as well as another special couple so when we had the disco to ourselves on our last night, it was awesome! Oh- there's a stripper pole in there for gags! The entertainment was wonderful with a steel band one night and one of Bob Marley's grandsons another. The bar is right there so you can easily have your drinks during the show. The staff is awesome with Jay Jay, Sweetness (describes her perfectly) and Daniel at the a la carte. We didn't even go to the Cornwall although we could have. The front desk staff was super helpful (unlike Cuba), and the food was amazing! Selection galore! (again, unlike Cuba). So after 30 plus trips to Cuba over the last 16 years, including one just this Feb., I am never going back. Why would I when there's Jamaica? Oh, we did go to Dunns River Falls, ?? meh. Too commercial and they make you run a gauntlet of way too rude vendors to get out, but Glistening Waters bioluminescent swim was awesome and there's even bonus entertainment afterward- highly recommended! Try Tyrone to get you there and back. He's just outside the front doors most mornings.

Thankfully we are NOT staying here and after visiting this evening to watch the steel band which was great…we won’t be returning. The bar at the stage area has the RUDEST barman EVER! He doesn’t acknowledge you, refuses to smile (even when jokingly asked) and is obviously in the wrong job! His rudeness put us and others off staying to watch the entertainment! I watched him time & time again be so rude to customers, I watch a guy who ordered a drink from him go to thank him by ‘fist pumping’ but he was totally ignored so the guy didn’t even finish his drink and just left. As a hospitality business owner myself, he would NOT be working in my bar. This is absolutely unacceptable behaviour. If the hotel management read this, he is the really tall/big guy…he cannot be mistaken.

Hotel does NOT have an elevator. Hard to carry your luggage up & down the stairs. The bathroom was horrible. Bathtub looked dingy, the sink had broken knob, the toilet barely flushed. the water was not hot, the water would start flowing then start shutting off like it was loosing pressure. when they came to clean the room they would leave 2 towels, no wash cloths, no hand towel. No iron, hair dryer or any of the other items listed on the website. Requested an iron, they brought one that look like a fire Hazzard. The bottom of the iron was coming apart & the wires were held together with tape.

Overall, the property was good they had lots of security, which was excellent. The beach was beautiful very immaculate. Food choices were OK. Beverages were pretty good. Cleanliness of the room was good. It was just old the tubs needed a deep cleaning. They were just not pure white. The walls were just overpainted over painted, the decor was horrible and the tiles were just dirty in the room especially in the corners. Thank God I took cleaning supplies for the bathroom because I did not feel clean in there just overall they need to do a complete and total makeover.

The beaches were absolutely stunning! . My room was on the ground floor and the view was breathtaking. Room itself very very clean . The food was so delicious , so much choice . The drinks were amazing, so good . The entertainment team was so amazing they always have something new and interesting to do/they did . The whole staff team were very friendly , so welcoming. They make you feel like you’re apart of their family. The security made me feel very safe. I will definitely visit again and I will stay in this resort.
