Nice trip but Disney Needs to do something about the smell
Lukas C (Boston, Massachusetts) on Nov 17, 2025
We stayed here in November 2025. Overall, it was a nice resort, though the distance to the parks did get a bit annoying, especially since so many other Disney resorts are located much closer. The one issue that really stood out was the smell outside at night. Based on what I’ve read online, it seems to come from stagnant water around the grounds, and for whatever reason, it tends to be most noticeable in the evenings. With everything Disney is capable of, it’s surprising that this hasn’t been addressed yet. Otherwise, we enjoyed our stay and I would still recommend this resort overall.
I would recommend this place

although this is one of the biggest and confusing hotels in Disney World it does have one of the biggest rooms and that's one of the most affordable Dulux Tree Resorts I think and it really is awesome

What an amazing resort, we have done a few hotels in Disney and this is one of my favourites, so tranquil, lovely rooms and friendly staff. Will definitely visit again
Building 47. Free wake up service provided by the golf course every morning around 5:00 AM.

No need for alarm because of the loud mowers and gas powered carts zooming by your window at 5:00 AM. WOW, what a great way to be woken up everyday!

Spent 4 nights at Old Key West from 8/15-8/19 2025. As a Disney veteran and my 1st time here, I would say I was very pleasantly surprised. I had read about the negatives including the size of the resort and the transportation issues but I really had no issues. We stayed in a 2 bedroom in the 45-46 building area which on the map looks very far from the lobby and pool but it only took 7-10 minutes to walk and was easy to access. The buses definitely were a slower way to go. 1 night I took the bus to Disney Springs as the weather kept the boats from running. The trip was long since mine was one of the 1st stops on the loop but even then it wasn't too bad. I enjoyed taking the boat back to the hotel. It was convenient and a change of pace. The room was large, clean and had all the amenities. Despite being an older resort, we saw no signs of aging. Everything appeared fresh and clean from the furniture to the drapes to the appliances. My favorite part of the resort had to be the peace and quiet. When we returned to our room, there was no screaming, crying, running or bustle. It almost felt like we were in a vacation rental off property. There is definitely less Disney theming here but enough to still let you know where you are. Last thing, we did have a car rental which made it easier to get around for things like getting to the parks and groceries. Regardless, I would highly recommend this resort.
