Best food in Dominican Republic.

The staff work the hardest to ensure all the guests are happy. The pool is clean. The bedrooms are clean. The chefs are great. The bread was good.

Adults Only Escape

Jordan M on Jul 09, 2025

Overall the staff is very friendly, loved adults only, and the food was pretty good. Liss on the entertainment staff was genuine, kind, and went above and beyond to make sure we were having a good time! Room was clean and everything was working well. The food is pretty good. The gym needs some attention as all of the machines are broken.

Want an honest review? We left after one night.

RMS171 (Louisville, Kentucky) on Jul 08, 2025

This is the first time I have ever written a review anywhere with so much negative vibe. This hotel was so underwhelming that we left the next morning after checking out. Where can I start. We booked three nights on Super+. Tip number one is don’t use this site as it’s the second time we were misled as to what we were reserving. The room: *Quite dated and nothing like any of the photos we saw on Super+. The ceiling fan did not work and the light covering on it was missing exposing the light bulb. One bulb was missing but the light didn’t work anyway. *WIFI is almost non existent in the hotel rooms. That was confirmed by the hotel when I asked why there was no WiFi. This is a huge negative. *The room had an adjoining room connected to it but separated by a door. We were serenaded to the sounds of the guests in the connecting room romping between the sheets. *Hair dryer was not mounted on anything to protect it from being splashed by water. The plug was wired into an outlet that was covered awkwardly by a plate. To unplug the hair dryer you had to separate the plate exposing the wires. *The bed was comfortable. Food and liquor *Unless you wanted to pay a premium; the selection of alcohol was easily the worst I have ever seen at an all inclusive resort in the DR. All the spirits were as bottom of the shelf brand wise as possible and the selection was sparse. Drinks were served in small 4 ounce plastic cups where in one swallow you were already needing a refill. *We ate at the Italian restaurant for our dinner. The appetizer spread was served buffet style. Nothing stood out, but nothing was terrible. I ordered lasagna and my spouse ordered pasta carbonara. The lasagna was not very good. It was a few layers of noodles, melted cheese and ground beef. No vegetables. The pasta carbonara was easily the worst pasta dish either of us has ever eaten. The dish had no zero flavor to the point that both of us were scared we had contracted Covid and lost our senses of taste. We ordered a pizza which was acceptable. The deserts were average. The wine was as cheap as the liquor. The service was fine. *An hour after we ate we were hungry again so we hit the buffet. The appetizers featured at the Italian restaurant were the same exact ones at the buffet. The selection at the buffet was VERY small and easily the smallest offering I’ve ever seen in the DR by far. The same pasta carbonara was at the buffet. I tried it again as it couldn’t be possible that a dish could taste so bad. It was as bad at the buffet as the restaurant. The desserts were as expected at a buffet though the ice cream was not frozen well so one was eating a bowl of milkshake. Entertainment *If you pick your hotel based on this then you need to rethink your standards. Same animation at every hotel. Nothing special enough to attract our attention to sit through a show. The pool *We didn’t use it but there was plenty of space at the main pool with no racing for a chair. *The pool towels in our room were old and visibly worn. The staff *The only persons we came across as inviting and pleasant were our waiter at the Italian restaurant and a security watchman standing outside the restaurant. Beyond these two, the rest of the staff had frowns on their faces. This is a huge negative in any resort because you are there as a client to have fun and feel the vibe of fun. This felt like the vibe of a pending layoff. The grounds *Well maintained and clean. The evening was so incredibly disappointing that we left the next morning. I was too embarrassed to share with the front desk manager my feedback as there was little to nothing she would have been able to do to salvage this train wreck. My wife was frothing at the mouth to tear the place apart but instead we just left. Yes, we forfeited two nights but we knew when we booked that the cost was non-refundable even if we checked out early. I don’t have much more to add beyond what I shared above. We booked this hotel at the very last minute on a July 4th weekend. We should have known there was a reason why it was the only resort with vacancies literally at 3 pm the day of checkin.

Good place

Getaway60381231118 on Jul 06, 2025

Positif: Nice and very clean place. If you like small and quiet places, this is the place to go. Beach is beautiful and clean. Food is very good but repetitive. My favourite restaurant was the seafood restaurant, of course I paid for a big steak but price was respectable. People are very kind, especially Elvin, he is adorable. Negative: rooms are small and old, no power outlets to charge our phones. we needed to charge our phone in the bathroom lol. puerto plata is an old place compared to punta cana, so you need expect that resorts are outdated.
