Most of the advertised facilities were closed during my stay. Out of the five restaurants listed, only one was open for the first four days, and only two were open for the remaining three nights. The Aqua Center was open only on Saturday and Sunday. No activities were held on the beach or by the pool at any point during the week. Regarding the amenities, 11 English-language TV channels had no sound, and despite reporting the issue, nothing was done to fix it. The internet did not work on the beach for four full days, and for the remaining days, it only worked near the beach restaurant with constant interruptions. Additionally, the beach restaurant was under renovation for four days (replacing the wood floor), creating constant noise from cutting and sanding tools. The surrounding beach area was covered in wood dust, making it unpleasant to relax. The lobby was also under renovation for two days. The food quality throughout the resort was mediocre (few options at the buffet for breakfast and lunch but a bit better for dinner) . We were obliged to use the a la carte restaurants for 4 nights, since they were the only one operating. One each night while the buffet was closed. I do not recommend any of the a la carte restaurants. The food is either too salty ( all ceviche, tartar, carpaccio) , beef steaks impossible to chew, chicken and pork just basic. Even the Dominican à la carte restaurant was disappointing. I was expecting more, since the Dominican dinner buffet on Friday evening was actually good. As for the drinks, all is domestic and low quality ( for example tequila doesn’t taste like tequila) and to have premium ones , one must have the Viva membership which is a sort of prepaid vacation in 5, 10 , 15 years costing from 10000 to 30000 US dollars and paid in advance ( during the first 6 months). I spoke to a manager about these issues. She simply apologized and claimed the renovations had been announced, which is not accurate—there was no mention of any construction on the hotel website or from the travel agency that booked the stay. I understand that maintenance work is sometimes necessary, but guests should be informed in advance so they can make an informed decision before booking. All in all, this was the worst vacation I’ve ever had. I definitely overpaid for what I received. The resort is in poor condition overall. The rooms are outdated and poorly maintained.
College Graduation Trip Success!! It was perfect!

I came here as a part of my graduation trip. It was me (Eadaoin), Camila, Alanah, Selena, Tara, Mel, Mika, and Penelope. When we first arrived, we were greeted by wonderful staff and tasty juice. Once we were checked in, we met our friend Wendy. She helped us plan all of our excursions since we booked through Expedia. She was very helpful with everything! When arriving to our rooms, they exceeded our expectations by being much larger than expected. That was much needed for having 4 girls in each room. For the activities available at the hotel, there was something to do each day. Some of the things we participated in were: bachata lessons, water aerobics, yoga, games like bingo and uno, competitions, a pool party and many more! The staff was very welcoming and we all felt that we made new friends along the way. The food options were good everyday but many of the restaurants open on the weekends with reservations needed. Overall, our experience at Viva Heavens is something we will always remember. We especially want to thank Henry (Speedy), Alexander, Sara, Isa, Monica, Samir, and many more for making our trip unforgettable!! We will definitely be back again soon:)
