Goodbye Hotel Mousai —You were great once!!!

I am unlikely to return to Hotel Mousai. This was my 3rd or 4th stay, and it is clear that Tafer management has focused entirely on profit. The Room (All-Inclusive Ultra North Corner, 6061, $2800 for 3 nights): While the view was beautiful, the room is showing its age. You can only do so much with cleaning; at this point, it needs a refresh. Plumbing: The toilet required multiple flushes to work. Amenities: The hot tub needed maintenance for all features to function properly. Tech: The iPad system is very old. It is frustrating to pay the same rates as the South Tower when the hardware in the North Tower is significantly downgraded and "over-used." Management & Service: Due to a major East Coast snowstorm, I was stuck at the airport and checked in a day late. I understand revenue protection, but management was completely inflexible. No refund or credit was provided for the missed night. Paying for an All-Inclusive rate—including food and beverage I wasn't there to consume—is a painful waste of money. Tafer has clearly chosen short-term profit over long-term customer lifetime value. What makes the lack of flexibility more insulting is that I am a high-spending, loyal guest; during this shortened stay alone, I spent an additional $500 at the spa and distributed over $400 in extra tips to the staff. While I was given a late checkout to 1 PM (a $200 value), it was an insufficient gesture considering my history with the brand and my additional spend on-site. The service itself was fine, and almost all staff members were great. They are the only reason I’ve returned in the past. However, because management no longer seems to value loyalty, I will be looking at other options for my next visit to Puerto Vallarta.
We will be back!
