Stay at Akumal

We stayed at Akumal hotel for the past week and had a great stay. The resort is very nice and certainly felt safe in between the four different resorts. The staff were friendly and the activities offered by the hotel we great, you definitely wouldn’t get bored. Cesar and his team made our stay very enjoyable, from beach volleyball, to aqua aerobics to bachata lessons - they made us feel very welcomed. There are a couple of things we weren’t too impressed with. - the rooms were very outdated and smelt quite mouldy, wouldn’t say they are 5* - ?the swimming pools weren’t particularly clean, my sister used the pool once (the Jacuzzi pool) and got a rash from it so we avoided all pools - ?the booking of a la cart restaurants were a bit of a faff, I would highly recommend booking your reservations before your arrival (as soon as you can on the app) as most places were fully booked upon arrival. Overall, we had a great stay but wouldn’t say all aspects of the hotel were luxury.

The best all-inclusive. Excellent staff. Beautiful grounds. Access to all 4 properties via trolleys. Food creatively presented as well as tasty. The pools are large and the rooms well appointed. Great place to take the grandkids. This was our second visit in 2 years.
