The property overall was beautiful and the pools and beach were really nice. Housekeeping was really good as well. The problem was with food and booking restaurants. The customer experience people were the only ones who could make reservations for restaurants but they told us that every restaurant was booked solid all the time right from the first day we arrived and that we could eat at the buffet (which frequently had many many empty dishes all the time). When we offered tips up front if they could book us…miraculously sometimes spots opened up. When we would arrive to our reservations, the restaurants were less than ½ full even though we were ALWAYS told there was no space. On our last night, we walked to the steakhouse and saw that it was almost empty. I went to the desk to see if we could eat there and the girl told me that if I was willing to purchase at least 2 bottles of wine during dinner she could seat us otherwise the answer was no. To top it all off…3 members of our party of 7 ended up with violent vomiting and diarrhea over our last couple of days and we didn’t eat anywhere except on the resort. Last point…we were there for a wedding. The bride asked the wedding planner about getting her hair done for the wedding and the planner told her that there was no availability at the spa but she had a friend who would come in and do it for $250 US. The bride’s mom went to the spa herself and booked an appointment with no issues for $99 US. SKETCHY
Excellent Hotel and Staff

Flights via BA were very good both directions, Cancun airport passport control worked well, Luggage collection very slow Journey to and from Hotel no issues with driver or time except return journey we had one other stop and waited half hour for a couple who were no shows which is disappointing that they did not appear to have let anyone know. Hotel was very good grounds well maintained with lots going on, we visited all sites in the complex– The vast majority of staff we met were helpful and pleasant they are a major credit to the company, Major shout out for the ground staff who tend to get overlooked. Room dated (block 56) but provided everything we needed – only 2 minor points there were not enough electrical sockets, but we had taken a 4way socket adapter so not an issue for us. And the safe broke twice on the holiday but each time was fixed quickly. Trolleys used them for Sian Kaan and Tulum at night and they were great but generally we walked as the resort paths etc are well maintained and signposted (google maps helped). Wi-Fi excellent. Food we mainly eat at the adults only site for breakfast with special thanks to Andrea always smiling when greeting people, Olivia who served us most mornings, and Laura who seemed to clear tables etc again can be overlooked but you could tell how rushed others were when it was her day off. Lunch was more varied used a couple of buffets and even snacks by the quiet Tulum pool, no issues with food or service. Evening meals we went to 11 A la Cartes on our 14night trip (did not have issues booking via app but we were only a couple and flexible re times) really enjoyed the majority and its nice to just sit down and be served and able to take time with the meal our favourites were La Gourmet, Kuuk, Dolce vita, Don Pablo, Maiko. Beach this for us was the only let down it looks excellent from Photos and we like to take long beach walks morning and late afternoon but honestly did not enjoy the beach to many rocks stones and rough areas etc and narrow in places, also you definitely need beach shoes if going into the sea. On a positive note enjoyed the fish near the Pier area and the beach down Tulum end. Will we return not sure, for Hotel, Staff, Facilities yes but at present the beach issue would be a no.
