Please note the following refurbishment schedule of the Princess hotels in Mexico, Grand Sunset Princess and Grand Riviera Princess.
To facilitate the work, the refurbishment of the resorts will be carried out in two phases.
Work will commence in the first week of May 2025 at the Grand Sunset Princess, with phased renovations of common areas and restaurants, concluding by December 20, 2025.
Following this, and with the common areas and restaurants already renovated, the second phase will begin with refurbishments at the Grand Riviera Princess and Princess Family Club Riviera, scheduled for completion by April 30, 2026, ensuring all improvements are fully operational for Summer 2026.
The project includes a complete overhaul of all rooms, restaurants, and various common areas of the complex.
The work will be conducted to ensure there is no impact on service quality or guest comfort during these periods. Fortunately, due to the structural characteristics of the complex, guests will not be inconvenienced by the renovations.
Overview
The Grand Riviera Princess in Riviera Maya has one of the best beachfront locations in the area, allowing guests a comfortable and unique way of enjoying the fine sand and clear waters. This spacious resort offers something for the entire family from its incredible beach to eight pools to extensive dining options and spacious accommodations. Guests staying at the Grand Riviera Princess have full access to the neighboring Grand Sunset Princess.

Guests now have the option to choose between non-smoking and smoking rooms when making your reservation please specify your preference.

## Review of Grand Princess Riviera Resort, Mexico

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Grand Princess Riviera Resort in Mexico, and overall, it was a delightful experience with many positive highlights and a few areas that could use improvement. ### Highlights **Courteous Staff:** From the moment we arrived, the staff were incredibly polite and attentive. Their warm hospitality truly enhanced our stay. **Non-Alcoholic Beverages:** The quality of the non-alcoholic beverages was impressive. Each drink was refreshing and flavorful, adding to our enjoyment. **Wildlife:** The presence of animals such as Coatis, iguanas, and deer around the resort added a unique and charming touch to our vacation. **Platinum Pool and Beach:** The platinum pool was a fantastic feature, offering a relaxing and luxurious environment. The beach and its soft sand were perfect for leisurely strolls and sunbathing. **Free Classes:** The resort offers an array of complimentary classes, including yoga, Pilates, spinning, and archery. These activities were well-organized and a great way to stay active during our stay. **Convenient Services:** The resort’s policy of free replacement of keys, 24/7 room service for platinum members, and concierge service were very convenient and much appreciated. **Entertainment:** The daily entertainment programs were diverse and enjoyable, providing fun options for both day and night. **Beautiful Surroundings:** The resort is lush with plants and greenery, creating a serene and picturesque environment. **Frequent Shuttles:** The shuttles operating frequently between the main lobby and the rest of the resort were very helpful, making it easy to get around. **Great Restaurants:** The resort’s restaurants serve a variety of cuisines, and each meal we had was delicious and well-prepared. **Safety:** We felt very safe throughout our stay, which allowed us to fully relax and enjoy our vacation. **Spa and Hydrotherapy:** For platinum members, the free spa and hydrotherapy services were a wonderful perk, providing an extra layer of luxury to our stay. ### Areas for Improvement **Room Conditions:** The rooms had a dank and musty smell and looked somewhat old and dated. A refresh of the decor and improved ventilation would greatly enhance the guest experience. **Room Service Menu:** The menu for room service was quite limited. Expanding the options available would be a welcome improvement. **Poolside Seating:** There were an insufficient number of covered spots for poolside seating for platinum members. Increasing the availability of shaded areas would be beneficial. **Reservation Issues:** We booked our stay for five people using the resort's website, but the reservation only went through for four people. We were charged extra for the fifth person upon arrival. While the additional charge wasn’t significant, better transparency and accuracy during the booking process would prevent such issues. In summary, the Grand Princess Riviera Resort offers a wonderful vacation experience with its courteous staff, beautiful surroundings, and a wide range of amenities. With a few improvements in room conditions, menu options, and booking transparency, it has the potential to provide an even more exceptional stay for its guests.

This has so far been a very enjoyable family holiday. With a few small problems that could make the experience better. 1st the good. The staff at the hotel are very friendly and hard working. The food has also been of a good standard in most places we had eaten. Now the bad!! Shade! There is almost no shade from the sun in this hotel. I can’t understand why they have no parasol’s. There are a few cabanas round the pools but that’s it. Unless you are out by 5am you will not get near a cabana. So no shade. With this being a family hotel this is no use for children who need to get out the sun.
