Needs major renovation

Mobile12430 (California) on Dec 08, 2025

Like other reviews, this hotel did not feel like a Marriott. Cleanliness - The hotel hallways and room weren’t clean. It felt like we were staying in a motel. The carpets were dirty and ripped. The curtains had holes. The ceiling was so low that even our kids could reach it! Plus, the ceiling had holes in it. The tub was creaky. When you took a shower, it felt like the tub was going to cave in. The bathroom smelled like sewage. There wasn’t any place to hang our wet towels from our shower. We had to hang them in the closet. Space - The room space was incredibly tight for four. There was minimal walking room. We had to use the desk to place our luggage. Safety - The area did not feel safe at all. Parking - The garage’s clearance was way too low (5’8). Getting an SUV or truck in/out of that garage would be risky. We weren’t happy with our stay at all (The only positive was the gentleman who checked us in. Customer service at check in was fine.). We couldn’t do an early check out because we were here for a soccer tournament so our reservation was locked in with the team, but there was no way we would stay for another night. Thus, we kept our two night reservation with this hotel and used points to stay at a different hotel on our second night in San Diego This hotel needs a major renovation. Otherwise, it should not be part of the Marriott brand.

Great stay!

Rolando5000 (Virginia Beach, Virginia) on Nov 24, 2025

Loved breakfast and the pool/hot tub! Hotel was kind of tricky to navigate, but great location in old town. Front desk was very helpful too.

Just okay hotel

Departure11821879273 on Nov 10, 2025

I stayed here with a couple of friends and it wasn’t great. The room itself was fine if outdated. But the bathroom was extremely small, and the AC didn’t work in our room. This whichqq honestly the worst part because it got blazingly hot really quickly. We called the front desk about it and whoever was working night audit was generally dismissive about the issue, said there wasn’t anything he could do for us because the engineer didn’t get there until the morning. The bed on the far right side of the room we were staying in was also laughably close to the window. We had to sorta shimmy in and shimmy out in order to make it to that side of the bed. The breakfast was okay and the breakfast host was incredibly kind. Overall I don’t envision myself staying here again and unfortunately wouldn’t reccomend.

Expect yo be hung up on if you ask questions

travelmama1969 (Saint Louis, Missouri) on Nov 02, 2025

When you make a res at this hotel, they charge you a deposit. When you cancel the res, you get an email confirmation but the hotel does not refund you bc they say they don’t know you canceled unless you call them. When I asked the front desk gentleman how is the customer supposed to know this, he hung up on me. Saying you are keeping my money until you run a report a month later is unacceptable. And any Marriott associate knows that it is unacceptable to hang up on a guest asking legitimate questions.

Better Inside Than Out

wayne337 (Greater London, United Kingdom) on Oct 17, 2025

This place doesnt look great from the outside. It was better inside but could probably do with a refurb. Everything in room as you would expect and it was nice to have a bath option. room was serviced daily which was a bonus. Restaurants close by.
