Reservation cancelled 3 days before arrival and no compensation

Jet629523 (Seattle, Washington) on Apr 21, 2021

3 days before my arrival, the hotel cancelled my reservation and transferred me to the nearby courtyard. To my surprise, the hotel management did not offer any compensation as inconvenience and this seemed to be "normal" to them.

Dangerous, unsafe, uncaring

UnmadeBed (Los Angeles) on Oct 23, 2020

My room was burglarized on my first night. Hotel staff couldn't have cared less and told me "that never happens" and claimed they checked room key access and security tapes. The next night at around 6am I heard a strange noise and woke up to some guy trying to enter my room from the balcony! We chased him off and called the police as well as the front desk. The police arrived quickly but they told me they were waiting outside for several minutes to get buzzed in by the staff! No one from the staff ever contacted us! All we got was a lukewarm apology at the front desk and a promise of a refund. When the refund hadn't come through several days later I called again and was told it was on it's way. When I expressed my disappointment that no one had bothered to contact me to apologize or follow up in any way I was rudely told I should be happy I was getting a refund and that's all I'd be getting. Nevermind that the refund doesn't even cover the value of what was stolen, let alone the trauma of being woken up by a burglar! DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL. It is NOT SAFE and they have 0 security or interest in keeping their guests safe.

"Newly Renovated" doesn't mean the entire hotel

aaronbD5224KT on Feb 22, 2020

The description for this hotel said it was newly renovated. That is false. This is the most dated Fairfield I’ve ever seen. The room was very dated, dirty and I could clearly hear the neighbors tv next door and the floor above squeaked every time they took a step. I've never written a poor review for a hotel, but after seeing how my concerns were handled, I was very frustrated. I actually left this hotel and stayed elsewhere. Would not recommend.

Good location and free breakfast too

rsbdesign (Carmichael, California) on Jan 29, 2020

This hotel is conveniently located within walking distance of Old Town San Diego. It's also just a few miles from most other San Diego attractions and less than 2 miles from the airport. It's a quiet hotel, the staff are very friendly and helpful and they have a free breakfast in the lobby every morning. The breakfast area can get pretty busy mid morning but there are several tables both inside and outside in the courtyard. Good choices for the breakfast too. Would definitely recommend this hotel! Parking at the hotel is $25/night. Nothing else is available except on street parking.

Excellent hotel

CaptainCookieDaddy (Roslyn, New York) on Jan 17, 2020

This hotel is excellent. The staff is very friendly, the rooms are beyond comfortable. The wifi was great, and they have computers in the lobby for free use. The free breakfast was very good. The bed and pillows were great. The shampoo and soap was great. They even have guest laundry which was convenient for our long trip.
