This was our second time at the Kona Kai and just like the first time it was a relaxed atmosphere just pulling into the driveway. The staff is cheerful relaxed and very helpful. We couldn’t wait to get to the room because we came to chill and that’s exactly what we did. My wife headed to the balcony overlooking the bay… Her favorite place. I jumped on the bed which is extremely comfortable and turned on the game. We had a wonderful evening and a very relaxed stay. do not disturb.??

We have stayed here a few times now. This last time was for a family event. The service was great. We love all the amenities at the resort including the restaurant. Location is perfect in Point Loma. Close to everything with easy in and out access unlike the hotels downtown. Views of the water are really nice too.

An excellent resort for a family event. Near the airport, plenty of parking spaces and conference rooms for event planning. I will not recommend anyone booking / reserving room directly with the hotel. There is rate gouging and you will end up paying a much higher rate. An alternative is to use a 3rd party promotional rate, such as from Costco. You will save over 40% over the direct booking from the hotel. They also guarantees the best rooms such as Marina view. You will end up parking lot view if booked directly with the Kona Kai hotel reservation. 3rd party reservation may also include a complementary full size car rental at no additional charge and the parking at the hotel are discounted at 50% the daily rate. Finally, these 3rd party such as Costco also includes resort fees and plenty of nonsense CA Tourism, SA Tourism, ...in their booking fee. In addition $50 credit for gift shop and/or restaurant bills. Summary - Never book directly with Kona Kai hotel reservation. Found front desk staff un-friendly.

Our second amazing stay at Kona Kai. 1st Christmas 2023 and 2nd Wedding Shower. Vessels is amazing. The service will not disappoint. We had a party of 20 on a Friday night and the service and food was incredible!!! The amenities our wonderful. LOCATION ++++. Easy in and out and accessible to everywhere. Exploring without having to fight the downtown traffic everyday. Recommended for friends family girls weekend couples.

We loved our stay and can't wait to come back! The room was great, comfy bed and beautiful patio by the game area. We loved having dinner out at the fire pits at night and even had them all to ourselves. The staff at the front desk were all so friendly and helpful.
