Resort experience, while at a business event. Even had a steam room which I loved. Very clean, Staff was amazing. Highly Recommend!
Beautiful outdoor area - rooms? Not so much

The outdoor area was pretty much immaculate (except for the adult pool area due to the duck swimming in it), and overall, the resort was quiet on a generally quiet island. Service was slow and not the best, but it was shoulder season (First weekend in March), so maybe they were not entirely staffed yet. It was a bummer that the adult-only pool bar was closed and we had to go to the all-ages pool area in order to get drinks (they wouldn't deliver to the adult-only pool), and since the adult hot tub wasn't working either, we spent our pool time in the All-Ages pool - which was not desirable to us since we JUST HAD gotten off a Disney Cruise that morning with tons and tons of kids, we were looking forward to some adult pool time. But that was non-existent unless we wanted to dodge duck poop and manually walk back and forth to their other pool with our own beverages. And of course, the SECOND we walked toward the only operational hot tub, some random little girl, 4 or 5 years old, unsupervised by her parent, came in at the same time, and seriously violated our personal space (was hovering over my husband's lap - VERY inappropriate and then started splashing him - he was literally cornered as he was sitting in the hot tub). We ended up leaving because apparently, parents allow their kids in hot tubs with strangers (guess that kid never learned "stranger danger" like I did)!!! And the kid even after asking politely, to give us some space - kept splashing and purposely being annoying ---- So, the pool/hot tub was a disappointment. Our room: we had a King Room with a Bayview (not Marina) in Building 4 (room 359). The bathroom was very spacious and had plenty of room for a family to get ready in the morning. But the toilet was weird with a push button that you had to hold for who knows how long, and had a poor flush - we had to get it unclogged after just peeing (sorry TMI but truth), so we ended up leaving the hotel room if we needed to do anything other than pee. There was a broken thermostat and a window AC unit. The window AC unit had a sign on it saying it was controlled by the thermostat, but the thermostat was dead and had no power. The room was set to 66 degrees automatically, and if we didn't keep an eye on the window unit, it would revert to 66 degrees, which, you can imagine, was irritating. Also, the blackout blinds couldn't be fully pulled shut because they blocked the window unit, which would just cool the blinds and block the flow for the entire room. So we were forced to leave the blinds open and just try to sleep that way. Needless to say, we got horrible sleep because I'm used to total darkness. Also, paid extra money ($60) to check in early to use their resort features, which, given how the adult area was practically closed, I do not see the value in that. Also, our room was not ready until after 3 pm anyway - so be careful about checking in early! Then, once we finally got our room, we called to have our luggage brought up, and waited and waited and waited for about 45 minutes, and my husband had to leave the room to track down our luggage. After going to the front desk (which was a bit of a walk), they admitted that they forgot about us and apologized. Saw my HUSBAND brought in our bags - making it feel less and less like a "resort." Overall, I would not stay again based on these experiences and the price. Too many other areas that are nicer in San Diego.
Classic place. Lovely but in need of some refreshing in the rooms.

Lovely location. Some nice updates but it's time to refresh the rooms. The upholstery has faded and looks a bit threadbare. I'm sure it's planned but now's the time. Also, the room was clean but there were a few icks like black mold/mildew on the caulk in the shower. That's an easy fix so no excuse. Makes me think that management does not tour rooms on the regular.
Spa day

I spent the day here with a couple of pals that recommended the day spa. Kenia was an absolute delight to speak with over the phone, and is so informative. Madison at the front was so welcoming and made sure I felt at home. Saraii the massage therapist was out of this world! It’s a beautiful property and I had a wonderful experience. Thank you spa Terre and Kona Kai!
