Stayed at Kona Kai for 6 nights for an anniversary trip to San Diego. It’s a beautiful location and our room was very nice. We took advantage of the fitness center and restaurant. Everyone we interacted with on the staff was wonderful with a high focus on providing an excellent customer experience. Shelter Island is a great location to get to multiple areas of San Diego quickly. The combination of location, facilities, and customer service create a good value. I look forward to future visits.

Good crew and location, but there is a lack of restaurant and variety of food in this hotel. The room was small for two quiet bed and pillows were not comfort.

We had a terrible experience here. We barely slept because the air conditioning kept breaking down throughout the night. To make matters worse, the amenities are not as advertised. While they claim to offer complimentary breakfast until 11 AM, we learned that the restaurant manager decides on a whim when to stop letting people in. Do not rely on the posted hours or the room comfort here.

Best experience ever. Manager Angie was so kind and accommodating. Our flight was cancelled the day before. She went over and beyond to take care of us which really lifted our spirits. The property was beautiful and clean. We will definitely be back.

Great place to stay. Very relaxing . It has lots of great activities you can do there. Just don't eat there for dinner. Not worth the price. For billing, make sure you look at your bill carefully because the billing of meals can be recorded incorrectly. Staff lacks of knowledge on the resorts and often times we get incorrect information.
