A wonderful trip to Saint Lucia

Tongaporutu27 (Sevenoaks, United Kingdom) on May 17, 2025

We had a wonderful time at the Hideaway. We came for my fiancee's 60th birthday and we had the most amazing time and left with wonderful memories. I would like to especially pick out and thank these members of staff: first and foremost Nancy Nestor of Guest Services who I liaised with extensively to plan our stay and to arrange a special birthday experience for Julie. I do not have enough words for how helpful Nancy was - she was accessible, kind, knowledgeable, professional and so responsive to my wish to make this a very special holiday. Nancy was wonderful in making sure that from the time of arrival when we came into a beautifully decorated room to when we left with special mementoes of our visit we had a very special time. The Royalton is a beautiful hotel and we would probably come back anyway just because of the service and support provided by Nancy. You can be very proud of of her as a member of staff. I would also like to mark the service provided by Jose who served us for Julie's birthday evening meal at Grazie and who led colleagues in singing the birthday song to Julie. I would also like to thank Veronica of Room Service who made sure we came back each day to a beautifully clean and tidy room.

Wonderful Experience At the Hideaway at Royalton St. Lucia

shalandag2015 (Delaware City, Delaware) on May 16, 2025

Most of our group arrived on May 1st, but others arrived on the 2nd and 3rd. I’ll start with the constructive feedback and end with kudos for the resort and to staff members. Out of the eight rooms in our group, three groups of guests were put into one room and told they would have to move within 1 to 2 days because the resort oversold the room category they booked. This was a huge inconvenience for all of the group members who were forced to relocate. Small concessions were offered for the disruptions, but were not enough to outweigh the inconvenience of not being able to fully make the room booked a “home away from home.” The guests should have been offered alternate accommodations in the form of a room upgrade for the duration of their stay, given that the mistake was on the part of the resort, not the guest. We rented a cabana for four of the eight days of our stay. We were taken care of by Samuel, Derek, and two other cabana attendants whom we did not become familiar with. On each of the rental days, there were three occupants total, which we identified to the attendant. However, we were with a group of 17, so the other group members did come to the cabana from time to time. On the first day of our cabana rental, we were reported to the cabana manager for having too many people ordering from the cabana attendant, even though we had not ordered any drinks or food at all from the attendant. Even the three occupants of the cabana went to the food truck or to the swim bar to obtain food and drink. Being reported was a sour note to the experience, but having the cabana was still a good choice in my opinion. Samuel and Derek were both gracious attendants and took excellent care of us. Overall, our stay was fantastic. Prior to arrival, we worked with Linell Joseph to make arrangements for dinner reservations. That process was flawless, and every reservation was exactly as we had planned. We stayed in the luxury penthouse one-bedroom terrace jacuzzi suite. The room was fantastic! Our butlers, Neil and Ferna, went above and beyond to make sure our every need was met. We were celebrating a 50th birthday, and all staff on the resort went out of their way to acknowledge the birthday girl and make her feel special. The entertainment staff was warm and accommodating, specifically “Michael Jackson”, Travis, Elzea, DJ Crabba, and Chris. The bartenders at the Royalton pool took excellent care of us, specifically Wendy and MarkDaniel. Wendy was extremely personable and had a very friendly demeanor every time we saw her. Even during the busy times, she always had a smile on her face. MarkDaniel introduced us to local spice. He was also the only bartender who could make my rum punch exactly how I wanted it. We ate at the Culinary Experience, Dorado, Hunter Steakhouse, Zen, Calypso, Gourmet Marche, and Armadillo. We enjoyed all of the dining experiences. Zen was a special treat on our last night because our hibachi chef, Miguel, was phenomenal. We have been to many resorts with hibachi/teppanyaki style restaurants, but his show, personality, and comedy were unmatched. A few other mentions for stellar service go to: Paige in the Hideaway Lounge Ray (from Amstar/Solar) was our driver to and from the resort. He treated us like family.

Another fantastic stay with amazing staff helping us make more magical memories

D F (London, United Kingdom) on May 10, 2025

This was our 3rd stay at this resort (2017 + 2022 + 2025) The staff are the nicest people you could wish for, all of the staff are super friendly making sure you have a great time. The land transfer from the airport is around 1hr 45mins depending on traffic There are 2 other options, Sea/boat Transfer and Air/helicopter We took the mini-bus direct to the hideaway lobby, check-in took about 15mins We stayed in room 1110 (Building 1, Floor 1, Room 10) Building 1 is for Hideaway & Diamond Club guests only There are 5 floors in building 1, Ground floor is all swim out rooms Room 10 is 1st floor at the far end facing out to the ocean We could not have wished for a better room, the balcony was a perfect size with a stunning ocean/cove view (see my photos). Our room was kept spotlessly clean with fresh towels and mini-fridge restocked daily. We tried every restaurant (except the Culinary Experience) they were all excellent however, our favorite meal was always the midday Diamond Club Beach Bar & Grill. There are plenty of beach towels and sun beds around the resort, all the swimming pools and Jacuzzi were kept crystal clean. We hired a private cabana with pool on Sunday which was on the foam party day, so had a perfect location for all the fun and music. The beach is a cove with soft sand (no rocks) the ocean is warm with a few rocks each side, we took the kayaks out a few times which is free and fun. The resort grounds are clean and perfectly kept. Evening entertainment was great from a spectacular fire show to an amazing country singer. We enjoyed 2 excursions, Soufriere Adventure Cruise & Party Sunset Cruise both booked via Nexus Tours and both were excellent. My wife and I have travelled extensively, particularly around the Caribbean (check my TripAdvisor profile) and we both agree that the staff at this resort are both exceptionally friendly, professional & went above and beyond, so we made a list of some of these stand out staff members and hope that the management read this review and congratulate the staff members listed below: Petra John – Very professional, helping us with a special request Sylvanie & Dell our 2 amazing butlers, best butlers we have ever had 10/10 Dwayne our cabana butler, very attentive and efficient Diamond Club area: Alma, Kerry, Marlon, Inga, Garie, Helon, Hanner, Lakisha, Kimani, Nicole & Naveed Pool Guy: Jefferson and his team kept the pools spotless clean plus they tested the water conditions continually Hideaway Area: Kurdisha, Antionio and Jonny Overall we have an amazing time and will be returning for sure.

A Memorable Getaway Thanks to Incredible Staff at Hideaway at Royalton

Naomi R on May 08, 2025

My fiancé and I had an incredible time at the Hideaway at Royalton in St. Lucia. We were especially impressed with Travis from the Vibe Team, who went above and beyond every day to make our trip unforgettable. His energy was unmatched, always inviting us to join in on entertainment activities and ensuring we were comfortable. The Hideaway bar was another highlight of our stay. Kurdisha, Liana, Jonny, Samuel, and Reena provided outstanding service, consistently going out of their way to ensure we had an exceptional experience. From the moment we arrived until the end of our trip, they looked after us with care and enthusiasm. We genuinely recommend asking for any of these amazing individuals during your visit. Their dedication and service made our trip unforgettable, and we will definitely be returning because of them.

Looking for Poor Service ....

Peter L on May 07, 2025

The service was terrible. Definitely NOT worth the money. Going to breakfast, you’d think they would serve coffee right away… not so, usually 20 minutes. One breakfast we were leaving as the staff brought us our requested napkins. The attitude of the staff was horrible. Not sure why the managers don’t fire these people, I’m sure there’s plenty of people on the island who would love a job. Coffee in our room the day we arrived, but that was it for the rest of the week. Towels often missing from the room and had to call to get them replaced. Coffee in the lobby was available AFTER the staff person felt like turning on the machine… once the line was long enough. Heaven forbid you ask for cream… you might get 2. The food was so so, but definitely not a 5 star resort. You had to share menus because there weren’t enough to go around. The fish restaurant was missing the 2 main fish choices on the menu, not to mention the specials were out of season but still on the menu. The steak house doesn’t give you a steak knife, until you place your order ( probably because they don’t have enough). The ZEN restaurant was the best food, but hurry up, because they ask you to leave for the next seating. The bars are not fully stocked at all. Certain spirits are only available at certain bars. There is no grapefruit juice, no limes, no margarita glasses, sometimes no ice ~ as you wait for them to retrieve some. Poolside there were plenty of towels ( a plus there ) and the pools were clean… but you may or may not have the hot tub running. After asking for 2 days, it was finally on for a day, with intermittent operation. Kayaking, looked like new equipment and new life PFD’s but was limited to the 100 yards the staff could see you. We noticed most people were only out about 10 minutes… boring. Sailing ~ the boats are down for repairs, ALL 3 of them! but no worries, the staff were busy on their phones ~ U Tube must know how to fix them, I’m sure it’s a multi week repair. Listening to other folks, the only way to get service at all was to tip the staff on day one… but isn’t that just rewarding poor behavior! So if you want a cup of coffee or a napkin, be prepared to tip the staff to get anything. Not worth the money we spent. Will definitely never go back.
