Beautiful hotel - not adults only. Wouldn't go back
Debby M on Jul 12, 2025
Just got back from a 2 week stay at the Hideaway. The hotel is gorgeous and kept spotlessly clean. The room is huge with a small balcony. In the room there is a perculator, hairdryer and a free safe. Oddly the appliances have English plugs on them, and some of the sockets are 3 pin sockets. You do need to find which socket is the right power though as my straighteners would only work under the mirror and the coffee machine would only work inbetween the beds. There is a cash machine on site, this charges $5 per withdrawal. The positives - the sports bar which make the best burgers. You do have to wait a little while but it is worth the wait. If you're lucky enough Eddy will entertain you with his dance moves. The burger van is great too offering burgers, chicken and nachos throughout the day. There is a coffee shop serving tea, coffee, ice-cream and pastries. Every now and then the bar staff will come by the pool with cocktails and fruit kebabs to try. If you try nothing else, the peanut ice-cream is a must. There are guys on the beach selling trips - we went on a trip to the mud baths and it was amazing. The negatives - this is not an adults only hotel, this is just a adults only section of the main Royalton Hotel. If you don't want any children around on your holiday this is not the hotel for you. The only areas that are adults only are the rooms, 1 pool, a section of the beach and a fish restaraunt which you have to book. All other restaraunts including the main buffet are for everybody so I did feel that there was no need to pay extra to stay at the Hideaway. The section of the sea which you are allowed to use is very shallow so you can't really swim in the sea. If you are middle aged and white you will always be the last to be served and none of the bar staff seemed happy to be there. We always tip quite well on holiday but I have never tipped so little. My biggest tip was to our room cleaner (Veronika) as she was lovely. In the fridge you should have real Coca Cola, Sprite, water and 2 tiny cans of beer which is supposed to be re-stocked daily - it isn't. Several times we didn't get any beer and a couple of occasions we got nothing. We never managed to eat in any of the speciality restaurants as we could never get a reservation. You have to use the app to book a table and every day it said the restaurants were fully booked or that I was trying to book too far in advance. We booked a trip throught the onsite Nexus team but the trip was cancelled and 2 weeks later we still haven't received a refund. I am now having to go through my bank to try and get my £200 refunded so I'd avoid Nexus. Anyone that has already been to the Caribbean will know that hotels are swarmed with loud Americans (mainly the non-white women) and this hotel is no different. We had to move rooms after our 2nd night as the room next door liked to party hard until 3am. We did speak to the night manager Nigel who was amazing and managed to get the room quitened down and we were moved rooms the following day. After this we didn't have a problem but if you are given a room with a connecting door, and you are not holidaying with the people in the next room, you will hear noise from next door. Around the pools the volume of these ladies got louder and louder the more they drank so we ended up moving to the kids area as the kids were better behaved. This is when we were actually grateful that this wasn't an adults only hotel and we could get away from the noise.
Great luxury experience

From the moment I arrived, I knew this was going to be a special trip – and I was absolutely right. The resort is stunning, the grounds are immaculate, the food is delicious, and every staff member I encountered was kind and professional. But the real stars of my stay were my incredible butlers, Raymond and Kurtney. They were truly outstanding! From arranging every detail seamlessly to adding thoughtful surprises throughout my stay, they went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. Their attentiveness, warmth, and dedication made me feel not just like a guest, but like family. Whether I needed help planning activities, dining recommendations, or simply wanted to relax knowing everything was taken care of Raymond and Kurtney delivered every time with grace and a smile. Their service elevated my entire experience. If you’re thinking about booking this resort don’t hesitate. And if you’re lucky enough to have Raymond and Kurtney looking after you, you’re in for a 10/10 luxury experience. I can’t wait to return
Private Dining Experience

Our private dining experience was spectacular! We had wonderful service from Sacha and her team. They were attentive, but not at all invasive and let us have a romantic evening while making sure we were well taken care of. The food was delicious and the sunset was incredible. We would highly recommend the clam chowder option and the surf & turf. If you can, time it so you can start your dinner about half an hour before sunset. We were able to watch the full sunset and it made the night all the more magical.
We enjoyed our stay at The Hideaway!

We enjoyed our stay at The Hideaway! Pros: the all inclusive makes planning easy with no suprises, lots of food options (we enjoyed the buffet the most for both breakfast and dinner), the beds were comfortable, the cabana with private pool was fantastic, the resort offered a little of everything, the steakhouse was the best dinner. Cons: making dinner reservations is not easy and the steakhouse fills up quickly, the room was very damp with a musty smell at first (the DampRid bag I brought helped a ton!), we booked 2 queen beds and were given 1 king with no option for 2 beds (a little awkward for a friends girls trip), specialty restaurants Dorado, Grazie, and Tex-Mex were nothing spectacular. Overall, we had a great time! We highly recommend Julian’s Boat Tours to get the complete St. Lucia experience!
Nice week.

We enjoyed our time at the Royalton and stayed in building 1 at the beachfront. This was our first time in St. Lucia. The check in process was easy and the lobby had a variety of drinks and snacks while waiting. The room was very clean but somewhat dated. The curtains had holes in them and were quite faded. I definitely recommend bringing your own shampoo, conditioner, and body wash as the selection in the bathrooms seemed watered down. The pools and beach were great. The staff members were excellent, friendly, and helpful, especially our butlers Raymond and Kurtney. MD at the pool bar was awesome. The butlers checked in with us every morning and often surprised us with our favorite snacks. The all inclusive is nice although it's best to check the restaurant schedules and make reservations as soon as you arrive as they tend to rotate meal closings. Food at most restaurants was just ok. The buffet had a variety of choices. We were not impressed with Calypso and the Sports Bar. In fact the staff at the Sports Bar were rude and not accommodating. The martini bar did not have martini glasses but some of the restaurants did, just weird. The street party on Friday night is something to see and the excursions by Nexus are good. The night entertainment at the resort was nice and the activities during the day were fun. Overall we enjoyed our week as we were mostly there to relax.
