Do NOT waste time and money!

I have filed several complaints through Marriott and I’ve gotten nowhere. My family and I went for a week vacation to the Royalton St. Lucia for seven nights. We had three separate rooms. We paid extra for the diamond club to receive Butler service. Also, no beach bag was provided like advertised. Here is my list of complaints 1. Bugs killed them daily in all three rooms, and the butler was made aware and no resolve 2. Butler Service was more of a concierge service and one of the butlers was extremely rude. This is not what was advertised. 3. Panhandlers bothered us every day on the beach. 4. Restaurants ran out of specific food items that they offered. 5. Elevator was broke more than it worked. 6. After advising hostess and waiter of food, allergies was still served what I was allergic to. 7. Never received Marriott points and got the run around as to the reason why. 8. Ants were crawling all over pastries in Italian restaurant. I have more concerns than listed here. I filed complaints through Marriott and have followed up with them and the response I get is sorry. I would think a company like Marriott, who has this hotel under its umbrella, would guarantee better outcomes for their guests.
Not worth the money - cannot recommend

This resort was chosen for a destination wedding for my friends' son. We were very excited as other experiences at tropical resorts have been great. This was not the case. I have never left a negative review before. I travel a lot, locally and internationally and realize that things happen and that it is a part of the experience. However, there were so many issues with this resort, and we got the bare minimum of what we were expecting. Every person in or group (22 people) were unhappy with the resort. I spoke to several other guests who had several of the same issues (bad service, reservations, elevator) we had and who were very unhappy. Check in took a long time, but was understandable as quite a few guests arrived at the same time. Got checked in and went to room. Nearly knocked over from the smell. It was obvious the vents had not been cleaned and smelled a little moldy. I figured it was because it was really humid outside and very cold in the room. We dropped our bags and went to main buffet for some food around 830 pm. The food was fine, not great, but decent enough. Did enjoy the all the fruit choices. Service was not great, but assumed it was because it was late and staff were tired. Next day went down to buffet and again food was fine, but service was horrible. I am pretty patient with servers and always kind, regardless of the service I receive. I ate nearly my entire meal before I had a glass of water. This was a theme throughout the entire stay while eating at the buffet - waited for water and soda. One meal I ordered a soda and never did get it. I ended up drinking my friends because he had not finished it. We tried several times to book reservations for dinner through the app. They were always booked, and when we walked passed, they had plenty of room. Finally found out a few days later after talking to another guest that you had to go down in the early morning hour (7 or 8) and reserve in person. Would have been nice to know in advance and we wouldn't have had to eat every meal at the buffet or the food t ruck. BTW, the food truck had the best food in the entire resort - which I thought was sad comment on the resort food quality. The elevator in building 5 went out all the time. One of the people attending the wedding got stuck in it for about half an hour. As someone with mobility issues walking up and down several flights of stairs with no notice was not fun. Our room had the smell/mold issue. It did not get better. I couched the entire time was in the room, which is a reaction I get when I am in an area with mold. My friend was stuffed up the entire time she was in the room. She spent most of the time she was in the room, other than sleeping on the balcony. The toilet stopped flushing one night about 11 pm. I knew no one would come and fix it that late, given the service issue we have had our entire stay and knew we would need a working toilet. I ended up taking the lid off and saw it was completely different than a US toilet. However, I pushed a few things that made sense to me and fixed it. So at least that got taken care of. Also, there was sand on the floors. I think vacuuming the floors instead of sweeping would help get the sand off the floor . I had difficulty getting drinks during the day anywhere other than the pool bars, and found the service very slow. I don't drink alcohol so I only ordered soda or water, which took as long to get as if I was ordering a drink. The other bars were not open. I have never been to a resort where all the bars were not open during the day. I didn't go to the pool every day so had to make do with do drinks other than what I could take from my room fridge. I will say the front desk people were much more helpful than any of the other staff, but there was no, or very little communication between them and other staff. I had inquired about a ride to the beach for wedding for myself and the grooms mom. They said to call the front desk to set up about 2 hours before. I checked the next morning to make sure it was not an issue, then called 2 hours before as instructed. We went down before the designated time and the bellhops knew nothing of our request and said the van was gone and didn't know when it was going to be back. I went to front desk and they said to tell the bellhop. I went back to the bellhop and they said they couldn't help us. I was getting mad at this point, which I rarely happens. I went back to the front desk and told them they needed get this figured out. I dont know what they did, but eventually the van came back and we got to the wedding area 15 minutes before ceremony. I will say the wedding was very nice and the food was pretty good so I am glad the bride and groom got the beautiful wedding they wanted. I would not recommend this resort unless drastic changes are made. I could've spent a week in Rome for what I paid for 4 days at this resort, and had a far better time and much better food.
