Lovely, relaxing vacation with exceptional staff and attention

We had a wonderful vacation. Our travel agent, Laurie Beckmann, made sure our reservations were set and all our needs leading up to (and during) our stay were met. Besides the amenities and beautiful weather, our stand-out experiences were due to some key staff members who made an impact during our stay. We arrived later that anticipated on our first night (about 2 minutes before most restaurants were closing their kitchens). We stopped at Neptunes for dinner and our hostess Janel made sure we were well cared for and well fed. We ate there several more times during our stay because we liked the food and service so much. Our butlers were exceptional -- Steffi, Tarra, and Livester. They made sure we had an amazing vacation and checked in regularly. They kept us well stocked in champagne and coconut shrimp, haha. Finally, on our last day, we participated in some fun poolside trivia led by entertainers Janai (I am probably misspelling her name) and her co-worker (whose name I couldn't remember, but they both led trivia games in the pool together). They were exceptionally friendly and fun. I would highly recommend a stay at La Toc for a future vacation!

We had a wonderful time at La Toc. We stayed in a rondoval room, which was incredible. We mostly stayed in our room as it was so beautiful and had everything we needed. The butlers we had were awesome. We initially had a rough start but I think that was mostly due to us not having had butler service before and not understanding etiquette. Charles, Kaland and Gasper went out of their way to make our trip special and make sure we were taken care of. We enjoyed the snorkeling trip and visiting the other two Sandals resorts as well. The only criticism for the resort would be the food. I do not think it’s on par with other Sandals resorts. There is not a lot of options for lunch and the resort is missing a Butch’s and a coffee shop, which would be welcome additions. Other than that, I highly recommend considering this resort.
From Cruising to All-Inclusive: An Honest Review of Sandals Regency La Toc

My husband and I are very big cruisers but we decided to take our very first all inclusive trip to St Lucia and picked Sandals as the resort. We had an overall good experience. There are lots of highlights and definitely some lowlights from our experience. Arrival at UVF airport was very simple. Customs can take a while but that is entirely dependent on what time your flight comes in. If you’re coming in late, Fast Track may be your best friend, if you’re okay waiting, that’s fine too. (I would suggest doing your online customs stuff before you arrive. It will save you the headache of having to QR scan and fill out in the small airport) We decided to go with private transfer and it was a great experience but the Sandals lounge was good too while we waited for our private transfer. Sandals does offer a transfer option, they’re air conditioned vans but it can get a little cramped though. Upon arrival, the customer service was tremendous. We received sparkling wine and a nice cool towel as they unloaded our bags and had them sent to our room. Check in was simple and relaxing. The staff really made us feel welcome. Our room was clean, organized, comfortable, and easily accessible to the resort. We had a walk out room next to the swim up bar and Pavilion restaurant/buffet. The room was an absolute game changer and worth the extra money. No fighting for chairs in the morning and always within a few feet of the bar. Having a walkout pool room or a butler suite are going to make a huge difference in your stay. The butler rooms had priority to just about everything the entire week we were there. The views are amazing, the people are incredibly kind, the resort is very nice, the food is really good. The service is great. We met a ton of amazing people. If you are having a bad time, you are probably doing something wrong. The food is very good. They were courteous when it came to food allergies (they asked us every single time, we have a severe peanut allergy in our party). This was a huge plus. The all inclusive element is just so convenient. No tips, no signatures, no hassle. That’s one of the best things we’ve ever experienced on any vacation. (For cruisers: there is not a ton of entertainment or activities. There’s some but it’s very little. This resort is all about relaxing, enjoying the beach, enjoying the pool, and doing almost nothing. It took my husband 2 days to get the FOMO bug out of him. But it was nice that he knew that he could relax or take a nap and not miss out on anything. They have some very good excursions too and they are reasonably priced.) Now to the lowlights: Our number one complaint is food related and it’s a two-parter. The food was delicious, however, it is not easily accessible. The lunch menus are only open 11-2ish and dinner starts at 5:30-9ish. The only thing available from 2-5:30 is pizza and there’s about a 20 min wait. There is only one late night (after 9) place to get food and that wait is anywhere from 60-90 minutes. We had dinner reservations at 3 places and 2 of them we didn’t get our meal for 1.5-2 hours. When we got the food, the portions were fairly small, however, it’s clear that it wasn’t pre-made as all the food tasted warm and fresh. If you like to drink and don’t mind waiting, this probably isn’t a problem for you, but on the last 3 days, our group figured it out and started planning 2-3 dinners a night. This wasn’t as big of a deal to us, but the drinks (especially cocktails) are pretty weak. If you want something strong or a normal bar drink, just ask for it. They’ll make it for you. Took us too long to figure that out. Or just drink Pitons. They will fill your mini bar with as many as you need. They come around every day and ask you what you want. This was probably not intentional, but we had a group of 4, and the staff did make us feel like we were an inconvenience every time we had dinner or an excursion planned. Everything is designed for two, which I understand, but we felt like a burden on the staff, and as a result, the other guests, more often than not. Other notes: You can travel to other resorts on the island for free. And you can stay at those resorts all day with everything still being free. It’s awesome. Just note that you will be sitting in a ton of traffic if you do this from Thursday-Saturday. We made that mistake. But the rest of the week, shuttling is fairly easy. The drivers are so knowledgeable and friendly. You basically get a free tour of the city. Overall I’d say it was a B to B-

My wife and I chose Sandals Regency La Toc for our Anniversary trip this year. This was our first Sandals vacation and won't be our last. We were showered with smiles from the time we stepped on to the property to the time we left. The staff were incredible. David at Armando's makes a killer Mocktail, Julius at the Pavilion bar made an amazing caramel martini for my wife. Sy-ana in housekeeping was always a delight when we ran into her in the halls. Skye by the pool was always quick the a dry towel or just a quick conversation on how he could make your day a little better. The team at the dive shop were great. Shalaura made sure our trip was booked and Barney was an excellent divemaster. It was my wife's first open water dive and he made sure she was paid a little extra attention so her trip was a memorable one. The vibe was chill and the guests were great. Our room was impeccably clean. The bed was a little uncomfortable but they were replacing all mattresses at the resort before the end of the year. My only complaint about the resort was the coffee situation. We were club level so we 24 hour access to the club lounge coffee machine but all other guests had one machine in the pavilion to share so there was always a line. I heard they are building a coffee shop but don't know when it will be completed. We loved it so much we booked a return trip next year through Jamal at the loyalty center. He helped us get an amazing deal on our room for next Anniversary.

We've been to 5 other Sandals resorts, so we thought St. Lucia would be similar. Uh, NNNNNNOOOO. The resort (Regency LaToc) is super spread out and situated up and down STEEEEP hills. Legit steep. For long distances. We could shuttle to the other 2 Sandals 'nearby' resorts. In the terrifying ONLY road. We love to snorkel, so our second day on the resort we took the shuttle to go snorkel. Yeah, this Sandals doesn't have the boat come right up to the resort, you have to take a shuttle to go to the dock like 20 minutes away. It's actually right around the corner, but these horrible roads make it a 20 minute ride each way. That's when I decided we would never leave the resort again. To say the skinny, horrible road was scary is such an understatement. It was a deal breaker. They also do not have a café at this resort. We love the café at all of the other Sandals we've been to where we can get coffee and ice cream and goodies all day. It was sorely missed here. So we won't be back to St. Lucia. We're actually surprised it was part of the Sandals family.
