Amazing!!!

This was my first trip to Cuba and the staff at Vista Azul made it the best experience I’ve ever had, they are the sweetest humans, the shows were top notch and the performers are incredibly talents, the bar, buffet and snack staff really become like family and making leaving so hard ??. My only complaints would be public bathrooms ( some without toilet seats, no Toilet paper most of the time), repetitive food at buffet ( but what is there is super tasty, and the pools end at 6pm, would be nice if they went until at least sunset. Other then those 3 pretty small issues it’s been the time of our lives, thank you Vista Azul ( Yordeny, Leslie, Adrian, Anet, Wilson, Victor) we love you all ??
SPECTACULAR BEACH!

We are a family of 4 who vacation 3-4 times per year, typically staying at 4-5 star hotels. We are very aware of the food shortages and current economic situation in Cuba, so I write this review with this in mind: Advantages of this resort: the most spectacular (seaweed free) beach that I’ve ever experienced - turquoise water as far as the eye can see, friendly staff, clean rooms and clean common areas, excellent entertainment both during the day and at night, two fantastic pools. Disadvantages: the food wasn’t fantastic (you could get a freshly made omelet or crepe for breakfast, and some grilled chicken or beef or pasta for lunches and dinners), the drinks were unexceptional (there seemed to be slightly better options at the premium lounge) and there seemed to be a toilet paper shortage in the public washrooms. For us, it was 100% worth it for the beach. It was evident that the resort is attempting to be economical, and you can’t fault them - they appear to be trying to save in ways that have the least impact on guests (I.e short window of time that the buffet is open, leaving half rolls of toilet paper in the rooms etc). If you are a Canadian travelling to Cuba PLEASE - the staff really count on tips from patrons. We learned that they CANNOT CASH IN CANADIAN COINS! We saw tons of people tipping with loonies and toonies! PLEASE! Either bring AMERICAN bills or CANADIAN bills! The staff have piles of coins in tips that they can’t use!!!!
