Third Visit at Playa Vista Azul!
HannahBlackhall on Sep 16, 2024
This was my daughter's and my third stay at this hotel, and we keep coming back because of the incredible staff who treated us with such kindness throughout our visit. A highlight of our trip is always the entertainment team. Special thanks to Yeyrel, who made sure we never missed the nightly theatre shows—my daughter loves them! The entertainment staff knows how to bring the fun! Gusmello, Yeyrel, Roiny, Hanny, Ebes, Odett, and Lulu always greeted us with smiles and made our days so much more enjoyable, especially by getting my daughter involved in games and encouraging us to join the aqua gym and overall keeping us informed with the activities going on throughout the day. This fantastic team truly makes our vacation special, and my daughter always has an amazing time here. For our third visit, we decided to try the premium buildings instead of the bungalows. We’ve always gone with the premium upgrade because it offers more convenience for us. Having access to the premium restaurant for breakfast, lunch, and dinner is so much better than dealing with the buffet lines and inconsistencies. The premium bar with top-shelf liquor is also a great perk! However, we were disappointed with the cleanliness of our premium room upon arrival. The bedding was dirty, used water bottles were left in the fridge, and there was hair in the shower. Given that we paid more for premium, we expected the room to be as clean as when we stayed in the bungalows. Another issue with the premium side was the noise, especially in the mornings between 8:00 and 9:30, since we were right next to the bar. If you’re looking for more peace and quiet, I’d recommend staying on the second level. The rooms could also use some upgrades, as our shower head leaked through the door, leaving the bathroom soaked. During our stay, we noticed that parts of the hotel were being renovated, so hopefully, these issues will improve with time. One more suggestion: it would be helpful if the hotel communicated the down season better. We stayed at the end of August, and only one à la carte restaurant was open each night. While we understood this was due to lower guest numbers, it would have been nice to know beforehand, as my daughter and I always look forward to the Italian restaurant. That said, Cuba is Cuba—we come for the beautiful beaches and the wonderful people we meet. We've formed so many great connections here! A special shoutout to Carlos at the premium pool for making the BEST cappuccinos every morning. He’s truly a kind soul! Thank you, Playa Vista, and see you soon!

I was super impressed by the beauty of this hotel. The view from the main lobby to the beach is a 14/10!! The resort was set up to meet with other travelers with many areas to have a quiet conversation. The beach, the deck, the pool, restaurants, the main lobby, the bars and walks along the beach. The staff are pleasant and hard working. Omelet and meat grill had fantastic workers. Next year I may stay for 2 weeks. There were no shortages of beer, wine, eggs, meat, water and other items but I heard that was the case at other resorts close by.
