It was really great... until the end.

Room was spacious and comfortably appointed, overall satisfied with the room although the pillows were uncomfortable and it took an entire day to get shampoo in the room. Food was exceptional for both breakfast and dinner, could use additional lunch options though. The resort is beautiful and very well maintained - very clean and decorated well. Butler service was fantastic for our entire stay, until the very last morning. Sandals website says butler is supposed to take care of several things on one's last morning (prior to leaving), however we did not receive any butler service our last morning on the resort and we felt as though we were a bit 'abandoned' on the last morning. Shuttle service 'to' the airport was good (on a nice, comfortable SUV with 1 other couple). Shuttle service 'from' the resort not as great - on a bus with very small seats with several other couple (including 1 sick person right behind us coughing loudly) - apparently butler service does not include the SUV specifically (I inquired after our return). I did escalate this experience to Sandals prior to leaving a review - they were very polite and apologetic, but did not offer anything to 'make it right'. Unfortunately our experience on our last morning did bring the overall rating of our stay from 4-star to 3. We will try another Sandals resort in the future, though as overall we did enjoy our stay.

Staff amazing everywhere on property! Shout out to Shay & Rajiv -Sandals Concierge team outstanding !!

We had a wonderful week of great hospitality from all the staff at Sandals, always willing to assist!! Our housekeeper Brittany was amazing, I have high standards and she also has high standards and was so accommodating Thank you Brittany we hope Sandals will recognize your talents in the future, her supervisor stepped into our room on Brittany’s day off April you are a great role model for your staff and your standards are outstanding as well Thank you …Shay & Rajiv are two young men who have made our holiday the best just as they did last year !! They are a terrific team who represent Sandals Concierge at a 6 star level!! Thanks to them our holiday was a very memorable one … we just received our diamond status and it’s because of the efforts of staff like Brittany , April , Shay , Rajiv and all the others who assisted us daily on our our vacation! My reason for not giving the resort 5 stars was the food, it wasn’t the quality we were accustomed to at Sandals … the returnees diner is one big example then there were many more examples and in conversation other returnees they felt the same. So Sandals keep Butches sprit alive by keeping the standards high. We will be at Sandals St Vincent next month Thank you to all of you at Sandals Royal Barbados

Beautiful Island - Terrible Service - The should be embarrassed

Don't even know where to begin. So many disappointments in service. Will try to keep it to bullet points: Was traveling with another couple and Booked an Butler Class rooms * Requested same butler(s) as we were coordinating activities. * First room smelled of mold and had a dehumidifier and desiccants hanging. Requested a change. Team agreed to move us. * Spent 3/4 of the next day chasing them for the room move. * When finally moved, new room was not ready, not stocked and had open drinks in the fridge. * Our butlers checked in with us once on day 4 of our trip after having complained. * We saw others being served food and drinks at the pools and their butlers frequently around. Ours were MIA. * They never knew where we were or what we were doing unless it was an off property activity. * Texts or calls to the butler phones frequently went unanswered or answered hours later. When they did call or reply they acted like we were at fault if we were in the pool or hot tub and were not manning the phone for a response. * Our rooms were not stocked according to our requests. * All of our dining arrangement were changed by our butlers. The new reservations failed to seat both couples together resulting in us having to wait as if we had no reservations. * Our butlers were uncoordinated and unaware of plans each other may have made. * Our requests were frequently ignored or incorrect. Was awakened early 2 days by room service after the butlers failed to cancel morning dining orders after repeated requests. *Much more to add but the worst is how management responded when we complained. Property manager (Nicolas) promised to rectify everything and had to step in to fix one of our dining reservations. He promised compensation and a follow-up by a guest services representative before we departed. That never happened and he was not there when we left the resort. Upon arriving home, I contacted customer service via telephone and explained the ordeal to them. They indicated that I had to write an email with all of the details and it would be promptly addressed. Sent email on Dec 18. Got an automated response asking for 5 business days to address. Never got a response. Filled out the survey honestly when I received it. Got a response from the team acknowledging the poor service and a promised follow. Never got a response. Got frustrated an contacted customer service again with the incident number. They said that they had investigated my complaint and it was completed on Dec 28th. This was Jan 5th. They promised a follow-up within 24 hours. Guess what? Never happened. I can understand some mistakes or oversights, but the incompetence with addressing raise issues by the management team tells me everything about how well the place is run. Spend you money elsewhere.

A change has happened

First thing we noticed as Royal returning guests was how happy the team all seem. Totally different from 2023 staff happy to chat explaining island experiences , during our New Years experience it’s a total contrast from our previous visit and to be honest one which some other sandals establishments could learn from. Joycelene was an absolute joy always helpful smiling introductions to other team players always find her in Neptune / pizza house/ jerk chicken this team member was everywhere a great asset.?? Some niggles like people reserving beds that don’t turn up?? Showers around pool areas should be more of and work???? Improve Gluten Free food my wife suffers with this. She didn’t starve but it could be better. Mozzy bites - housekeeping need to close doors wife was eaten alive 13 huge bites! BUT on the whole thoroughly enjoyed our short trip already booked another trip next year. See you all soon??

Fair experience

Overall not a bad trip. House keeping removed items we had in the frig and on our last full day we did not receive cleaning services until 7 pm after we had called. Our room had a water leak from the rain and was partially flooded. We were moved to another room but were never contacted by staff or offered any type of compensation for the inconvenience it caused. Food was very good at all the restaurants we were at.
