Best staff but not a typical all-inclusive resort.

bb5901 (Enid, Oklahoma) on Jan 03, 2026

If you are looking for a budget friendly resort this is it. I would recommend this resort for staff but not for dining, drinks, or location. First, they do not provide towels for the beach or outside area only bathing, and everytime they cleaned our room they took the towels and didn't replace. We had to go ask front desk to get more towels and wash clothes. The food was flavorful but not much variety. I don't eat many carbs and breakfast was mainly all carbs unless I ordered eggs. Lunch was the same rotation of food, tuna sandwich, chicken salad sandwich, burger, just not the variety we are use to from an all inclusive resort. If it wasn't for the staff I wouldn't recommend this resort at all. They went out of their way to get to know our names and make us feel welcome. One of the owners was there working with the staff and he was very friendly and spoke everytime he saw us. Our room was just off the roadway so it was a little noisy when traffic was going by regularly. Most rooms had small refrigerators but they were not stocked with anything. There was a store a few yards away where you could buy items for your room if you liked. It was on the cliff so no beach if you wanted to sit on the beach they offered a shuttle service for their sister resort Legends form 10 am until 4pm so you could relax on a beach. There is only one restaurant and one bar but the resort is small and charming.

Terrible hotel bad service and not what is advertised

Debbiewwe on Dec 30, 2025

This hotel advertises as all inclusive it is not. It's a very poor full board with no entertainment. Awful food packet mix soup. Smash potatoes chicken wings nearly every day or tin fish frozen vegetables. Breakfast is fried eggs toast and limited bacon on odd days or if you go after 830 there's nothing left. They don't cater for the quests they serve like it's rationed and your only allowed one selection. Repeated weekly. There's no options for kids and the hotel is ona very dangerous cliff that is pitch dark at night no security lights u can easily fall off the cliff. It advertises 4 restaurants there is none only one poor school dinner type served area with very limited good. The rooms are basic with air conditioning. Take your own beach towels and shampoo as there is no provided toiletries. The staff are rude like your begging for food or drinks.. The bar is rum brandy gin in unbranded clear bottles anything in a bottle is charged extra. We was told the food was limited due to the hurricane but if we paid from the non all inclusive we could have anything it suddly became available. This is the worst all inclusive I have ever stayed at. Over priced poor facilities rude staff and bad cleaners. It's on a deadly dangerous road with some accomadation across the road on a blind d corner. It was my first xmas abroad and my worst xmas and holiday. Do not book this hotel as all inclusive or if you have children you will be very disappointed nothing like the website shows the sea is too rough most days to swim and they put signs saying no swiming so if u are going to dive don't bother. If you like packet mix soup porrage. Fries chicken wings n tin fish you will like this hotel. Oh and the plastic fruit. U might get a slice of melon if your first in for breakfast. When is gone it's gone. Bar shuts early making guests feel unwelcome most people are in bed by 830 it's the most boring hotel ever. Everyone there was walking round like we was at a funeral looking depressed and disappointed.. Don't book this hotel

Samsara is amazing!

Thank you Samsara Cliff Resort for another great time in Negril! Your resort, restaurant, and staff are absolutely amazing. This was our 5th stay at Samara Cliff Resort, and we are planning to return next year. We always love the traditional island vibe, food, and experiences. You are our "home away from home."

Very nice for snorkel lovers

100irinab (Buffalo Grove, Illinois) on Dec 19, 2025

My husband and I spent 9 wonderful days at SamSara Cliff resort. We are fans of snorkeling - and the resort provodes 100% ability for snorkeling just from the shore. BTW: Cliff resort has no sand beach - they provide free shuttle (about 10 min ride) to sister_resort "Legend" - where your all-inclusive bracelet gives you all rights for lunch, drinks, etc. But the Cliff resort has very convenient steps and leathers to get back from the water. Very nice 2 pools - and absolutely no problem to find a beach chair in a shadow. the Cliff resort was no crowded at all (probably, because resent hurragane scared tourists - but at the day we arrived (Dec 8) it 100% functional. I liked there was no loud music by the pools - quet and peaceful. The resort clearness is awesome! and same is friendless and careness of the team. My special thanks to Kendrick, Marcia Tina, Donnel Nadine Dorette - they made our stay really relaxing. The food was very fresh and tasty (while not very diversitive: 5 hot dishes, 1 salad, 1 decert and fruit). However, I personally was completely satisfied. Also, I was suprized to know that wine is not included in the all-inclusive list (but do not be scared to stay dry: rum, vodka, whiskey, gin in any cocktail combination with no restriction... and beer, of cource :)) The reefs are beautiful - we snorkeled 2 times for 1.5 hours each every day. The water temperature was just perfect - about 29C (84F) Overall, I'm very satisfied with our stay at the resort.

Calm, authentic, and timeless

Arand M on Dec 18, 2025

Hands down one of the real ones in Negril. Samsara isn’t some soulless mega-resort pretending to be Jamaica. It’s the old-school Negril vibe done right—laid-back, personal, and effortlessly cool. Perched on the cliffs, the views are unreal. Sunsets hit different here. No filter needed. The staff? Absolute pros. Warm, attentive, and actually care that you’re having a good stay—not the fake smile routine. You feel like a guest, not a room number. Rooms are clean, comfortable, and exactly what you want in Negril: simple, breezy, and functional. If you’re expecting Vegas luxury, you’re missing the point. This place respects tradition—relaxation first, noise second. The food and drinks are solid, and the vibe around the pool and cliffs is elite. Jumping into the ocean from the cliffs is a core memory kind of experience. Plus, being able to access the beach at their sister property is clutch. Bottom line: Samsara is for people who actually get Negril. Calm, authentic, and timeless. If you want peace, views, and real Jamaican hospitality, this is it. No notes.
