We stayed for 3 nights. In those three nights we had sadly discovered that housekeeping is every other day... BUT don't worry, when they do show up they're just going to shove the same dirty sheets back on the bed and fail to clean anything at all. When we first entered into the hotel room we were so off put that there was a fingerprint smudge on every possible surface of the in room tablet. They also only included 2 wash cloths to start, which for having housekeeping every other day is unacceptable. We put in a request for more and were delivered a bundle of towels that didn't have any washcloths/ I guess whoever looked at the request couldn't interpret it. The worst part was the complete lack of hot water. We had put in a request for maintenance to check it; in which we were told it was taken care of; only for us to return to our hotel room and discover that it was just as cold as before. Of course their resolution was to send someone back up at 10PM the night before we we're leaving so it was far too late. 3 nights for $985 dollars and just ONE hot shower was too much to expect. Clean sheets were too much to expect. Also very poor for guests with disabilities as we specifically requested a hearing accessible room and were not given one. I have been going to Universal 6-10 times a year for the last decade nearly. I have stayed many times at The Endless Summer, Hard Rock, Royal Palms, Stela Nova and once at Cabana Bay. I will tell you for certain fact I will never stay at this hotel again. For shame! When I look at the reviews mentioning the cold showers I'm seeing the same complaints from 5 YEARS ago. If you want a hot shower with nice big rooms stay at the Endless Summer, if you want to vacation in style and with express: Hard Rock. But if you want dirty hotels with cold showers I couldn't recommend this hotel more, I really couldn't.
Technology leaves much to be desired, but rooms are very clean

My husband and I stayed at the Aventura for 3 nights while visiting before a cruise. We checked in late (close to 11 pm) on a Wednesday evening, the lobby was mostly empty so we were checked in very quickly. We got to our room and immediately noticed the tablet wasn't properly connected to our reservation (it was displaying that the room wasn't rented) which prevented us from fully accessing everything. We called the front desk and they sent someone up, he was there for a solid 10-15 minutes but couldn't figure out what the issue was. Eventually it seemed to self-correct, though, so I guess it ended up being a non-issue? Overall though this was a perfect example of "just because you can, doesn't mean you should." The tech-enabled features of the room were really more of a hindrance than a help, as it caused issues with turning on lights (if you turn any light on or off manually by accident, it would stop working on the tablet), some of the light switches on the tablet didn't work at all, and the TV controls were finicky (and of course, the actual remote that was in our room didn't work either). It just seemed like if you're going to commit to that level of technology in every room, you need to make sure it REALLY works and is reliable. It's just not there yet. All that said, the room was extremely clean, the view from our room was beautiful, the bed was very comfortable, there was plenty of storage, the proximity to the parks was perfect, the staff was friendly, and having a Starbucks in the lobby was very convenient for quick coffees and grab-and-go breakfasts before taking the shuttle to the parks. For these reasons, we would stay at the hotel again and because we'd anticipate technology issues, it wouldn't be as much of a headache.
