Key Information for the Hotel and Universal Parks

JGTravelReviews on Jan 10, 2026

Access to Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure: You can walk to Universal Studios or Islands of Adventure from this hotel - probably about 15 - 20 minutes along the garden path. You can take the water taxi available behind the Sapphire Falls hotel across the street. There is also a shuttle to all three parks including Epic Universe. Volcano Bay is located very close to the hotel. Epic Universe: You can not walk to this park. There is a regular shuttle from the hotel that runs consistently. It is a 15-20 minute bus ride to this park. Access to amenities at other Universal Hotels: You can request an amenity key at the other Lowe's properties including Sapphire Falls across the way. This gives you access to the pools at all the Universal hotel properties. Hotel accommodations: There is everything you need, but it is very basic and grey. The water pressure in the shower is great and while you can hear the roads behind you, inside the hotel is pretty quiet. The pillows are not good, however. We got two adjoining rooms - and there is a small fridge, but for families looking to spread out and prepare food - this is not the appropriate choice. Food at the hotel: There is a nice rooftop bar area with snacks and great views. In the lobby there is a Starbucks, pizza area, and cafeteria type place with family friendly food. It isn't terribly pricey.

Dirty

Maps60342936524 on Jan 01, 2026

They don’t clean the rooms during visit, which is unacceptable at these room rates. They ran out of shampoo and didn’t have any at the front desk. Motel 6 has better service and cleanliness.

Not Recommended. Dated, smelly, awful customer service.

PJ103A (Salina, Kansas) on Dec 26, 2025

Not recommended. Location is the only good thing about this hotel. You will be disappointed as I was. The building feels older. In the hallways there was permeating odor of socks or wet bathing suit. The entire hotel smelled musty. The room decor and furnishings were cheap and more in line with a discount motel then an upscale, premium product. The towels are threadbare and cheap. We stayed on a Sunday night and there are no dining options within walking distance so we ate at the hotel "restaurant" which is more like a cafeteria. The food was awful and one of the employees insisted I bus my own table and sort the dishes, silverware, and trash for her. When I declined, she called me an "entitled a**." Well, yes ma'am, I did just spend $78 for slop, I might be entitled to something. I would never stay here again and I will warn everyone visiting Universal to not stay here.

A Wonderful 70th Birthday

TheDon1955 (Caister-on-Sea, United Kingdom) on Dec 03, 2025

My wife and I had a wonderful stay here for two weeks from 12th November to 26th November to celebrate my 70th birthday. The hotel and room was lovely (we had a room overlooking Volcano Bay). We found all of the staff to be polite and helpful and a real credit to the hotel, unlike lots of hotels. But some were outstanding. Our amazing stay began with Brenda on check in who was very cheerful and welcoming and really did set the tone for the rest of the holiday. In the Urban Pantry Jennifer and Ines were incredible, especially when they found out it was my birthday! They were always very friendly and upbeat and certainly made my special stay even more special. I must also give a huge shout out to Raven who when we returned after a tiring day was ready to serve us with ice cream and cookies at the Pizza station to help revive us. (A big thank you from Chris "The Cookie Queen".) In the shop Hannah and Patrick were super helpful. I must also make a special mention to our Housekeeper for whom nothing was too much trouble and going out of her way to ensure our room was made up, even late into the afternoon.(I'm sorry that I didn't get your name) The position of the hotel is great even with no car. 5 minutes from Volcano Bay, 5 minutes from Sapphire Falls and the water transport and walking distance to CityWalk. We would definitely recommend this hotel and certainly stay here again!

Modern Disney Hotel

123shanique (Florida Panhandle, Florida) on Dec 01, 2025

We had a blast! We enjoyed traveling to and from the Walt Disney theme parks via shuttles daily! The beds were clean and comfortable. We had modern clean room, with entertainment equipment options throughout. Great restaurants with a variety of food options. Great view and willing to enjoy again!
