Active Advisories
The Royalton Saint Lucia and Hideaway at Royalton Saint Lucia resorts have advised of upcoming renovations beginning August 4, 2025, through to December 2025. All work has been thoughtfully scheduled in rotation to avoid disruption, ensuring that services, amenities, and the overall guest experience remain fully intact throughout the process.
Guestrooms: Refresh project will take place in staggered stages across both properties.
Elevator Improvement Project: In the guest room buildings, three elevators will be upgraded with minimal impact on operations, as service elevators will continue to support guest movement and ensure uninterrupted comfort. The main lobby elevator, meanwhile, will undergo its replacement during the last week of November 2025 and the first week of December. During this brief period, guests will continue to move easily between levels using the existing escalators and service stairs, which will remain fully operational.
Dining & Bars: With 8 dining venues and 9 bars across both properties, all outlets will remain operational throughout the renovation period, with only one restaurant or bar undergoing enhancements at a time.
Common Areas: Adjustments to the Convention Center, Entertainment Theater, Diamond Club™ lounge terrace, and guest restrooms will be carried out gradually with no impact on daily service.
Outdoor Amenities: Enhancements to select outdoor features will be carried out in stages, including upgrades to the Hideaway beach area, the water sports desk, and pool cabanas, which will be updated one unit at a time overnight while the remaining cabanas stay available for guest use. Guests will also continue to enjoy full access to pools and beach areas throughout.
Throughout the duration of this project, all amenities and services not scheduled for renovations will continue to operate as usual. Scheduled renovations will be sectioned off to the specific area of work. All efforts will be made to minimize impact to guests during this time.

Mixed Feelings

We stayed at the Royalton Hideaway for seven nights. While there were several aspects we genuinely enjoyed, we also encountered numerous unexpected issues that negatively affected our overall experience. We absolutely loved our room. We upgraded to the Hideaway Presidential Suite (Room 2410), which was incredible—spacious, beautifully laid out, and featuring a huge balcony with views of the resort and beach. Unfortunately, the air conditioning stopped working on our final night. The private airport transfer was smooth and comfortable, and we felt it was well worth the cost. Dining and drinks were enjoyable, particularly the buffet, the food truck, and the small lunch buffet near Dorado. The bars offered a good selection of cocktails and were happy to make specialty drinks on request. The Hideaway pool also provided a relaxing atmosphere, with plenty of loungers, umbrellas, and towels. However, there were several areas of concern. Check-in was disorganized. After more than 24 hours of travel, the Hideaway lounge had no water or diet soda—only Sprite. Later that night, at 9 p.m., we were woken up and told to come back down to “finish checking in.” The next morning, staff had no explanation for the late-night call. We also experienced a serious issue with counterfeit sunglasses. We purchased Oakleys from the boutique, only to discover they were knockoffs after contacting Oakley directly. Staff initially refused a return and issued a refund only after we provided proof from Oakley. Housekeeping was inconsistent: our personal full-size bars of Dove soap were removed on day five and never replaced, hand towels and washcloths were repeatedly missing, and a very noisy ceiling fan in the bedroom was never fixed. The resort app was unhelpful at times. We were unable to make dinner reservations during the first few days, and activity schedules were inaccurate with locations not clearly listed. Smoking rules were poorly enforced, with several guests smoking at the pool outside designated areas and staff not intervening, which was difficult for those sensitive to smoke. Other frustrations included the air conditioning never cooling the room properly, several laughably small side portions at restaurants, turndown service knocking despite a Do Not Disturb sign, multiple buffet stations (including ice cream) going unstaffed, guest services unable to provide small bills for tipping, coffee cups without lids, trash left uncollected in some areas for days, and multiple public restrooms lacking toilet paper and hand soap. Overall, while we truly enjoyed parts of our stay—particularly the room, food, and pool—the number of service inconsistencies and preventable issues left us with a poor impression of Royalton St. Lucia.
Don’t spend the money. Stay away. Read rnegatice reviews, they are true!

Traveling to get to St Lucia since 4am. Additional 2hr ride to hotel. Had to walk to room while Courtney guest golf cart passed with no guests in it stopping at room. Room is musty, northern US basement smell creating difficulty to breath. Met with supervisor to get another room, went to manager only to find other two rooms smell the same way. TV doesn’t turn off to go to sleep as now 11pm. Now supervisor is gone for the day after making three walks to front desk for a new room. Unit manager never called to get us another room. Now 6am as fell asleep in musty odor filled room. Do not spend the money for this hotel. Read Marriott negative reviews and understand they are real concerns. You will not get the service or stay you thought you would get. Did mention, wedding, going on in the idle of the resort, can’t go to sleep in the musty room as I have to leave the patio door open in odor to sleep and not risk breathing in the air in the room.
