Amazing Resort with Some Service Issues

The resort is probably the best in all of Aruba. You are only 10 minutes from the airport. The hotel sprawls across both sides of the street and on the ocean with multiple buildings. We had booked a room in the "adults" only side and were given an upgrade to a beautiful ocean front suite on the ocean side. The room was huge and spectacular in every way. The bathroom was enormous with plenty of towels and amenities. The breakfast buffet and service are exceptional with so many choices. The only drawback is the aggravation of black birds swooping in your food while you are trying to eat. Omelets are perfectly prepared too. The pool is large and comfortable with plenty of chairs and umbrellas. The pool has a poolside bar with seats inside the pool. The drinks are meager pours with practically no alcohol and a vodka martini was watered down. Bartenders are not friendly, and the drinks are a "rip off" for sure. Also, the hotel did not have any running water for over 10 hours one day with no place to shower and toilets would not flush. Hotels at this star and price level should not have plumbing problems when the property is full of guests. Nothing was offered to guests for this major inconvenience. The hotel has plenty of restaurants and bars and the staff are mostly quite friendly. Even with the service and water issues, I would recommend this hotel and would return.

Comfort and pampering is their specialty. All inclusive meals were over the top. You eat what everyone eats. Resort restaurants impressed us at every meal. Renaissance island impressed with cababa rental steep in price, we ran into a wonderful couple on their honeymoon and split the cost. We will definitely book this resort as well as all inclusive. Elder Mendoza was our navigator and scheduled many of our meals and excursions. Highly recommend to first timers to Aruba as well as seasoned travelers. We ran into couples who've been coming to this resort all inclusive for 15 years. That spoke volumes to us.
