Sea Wall Notification – May 1st to November 1st, 2024
Starting on May 1st to November 1st, 2024, Alaia is constructing a new sea wall which will enrich the luxury resort experience, creating an expanded beach with over 800ft of ocean frontage. During this period, access to certain areas of our beachfront will be intermittently interrupted.
The villas and Reef House oceanfront suites will remain open during this time. The three pools, spa, and dining venues will also continue to operate as usual and their 7-day activity schedule will be in place.
All efforts will be made to minimize impact to guests during this time.
Overview
The first Marriott property in the country, Alaia Belize is where luxury upscale amenities meet a laidback locally inspired Caribbean living. Guests have exclusive access to a boutique, full-service spa, six restaurants, four bars, and three pools, including Belize’s first-ever suspended rooftop pool and lounge with 360-degree views which is for adults only. From the modern Vista Studios and Suites in the heart of the resort to the secluded and family-style Reef House Suites, to the spacious three-bedroom Beachfront Villas featuring their own private plunge pools, Alaia Belize has something for everyone.

The kindness made all the difference!

Everyone there was so kind, the property was beautiful and the hospitality amazing. A special shoutout goes to Elvis, who always had a smile, wanted to help and went out of his way for us. The bartenders were fantastic, especially Henry. The security guard Melvin was awesome too. Thank you all, everyone, from the reception to concierge, your kindness was not unnoticed, it was very appreciated.
Underwhelming to say the least

We were so excited for this family vacation. However our travel got messed up by American Airlines. We kept the hotel informed but upon arrival were informed we would have to pay for the 2 nights we missed. The person at check-in seemed like she couldn’t care less about us - it was a very cold process. We were greeted in our 2 bedroom villa with a note addressed for another family. The Villa looked like the pictures but was somehow underwhelming - just not as nice as you would think. The resort looks beautiful in the pictures but the pictures are much better than the real thing. There isn’t much to do on property and everything is an extra charge and food here is more expensive than just about anywhere on the island. If you go for a walk, just know it’s going to smell and there is trash everywhere. If you sit still - prepare to get eaten by mosquitoes. If you go in the water - prepare for sea lice to cover you. You can tell the property wants to be luxury but the staff and attention to detail make it so much less so. I’d recommend so many other places over this one.
